I had never heard of Sweet Black Waves, but it sounds great! Ayiti and Fierce fairytales seem super interesting as well! I think I’m adding them to my TBR 😊

The Broken Earth trilogy and Every Heart! I love them as well. Just added a ton of these to my TBR. I'm particularly interested in Ayiti.

Yes!!!! Both fantastic, and I definitely recommend Ayiti. It’s short but packs a punch.

My friend Rachel loved Sweet Black Waves and I've been tempted to pick it up ever since! You're the only two people I've ever heard talk about it! I'm SO happy to see The Name of the Wind on your list. That is my all time favorite book

Please do try Sweet Black Waves! It really didn't get a lot of buzz but it's a fantastic book. The author's editor moved houses before publication and I think that really affected things. YES Name of the Wind!!! I really hope we get Doors of Stone soonish!

I'm so glad you liked The Hazel Wood, I really want to read it but get discouraged by negative reviews. I read Red Rising last month and it made my top 3 of 2018! I got Sawkill Girls on kindle, I have to get to it at some point.
@BeautifullyBookishBethany6 жыл бұрын
I loved Hazelwood! I think just expect it not to read so much like a YA. If you don't mind "unlikeable" female characters and books that get a little strange I would definitely give it a try. Red Rising is so good! And Sawkill Girls!!!!

I love that you made this video as well as the one highlighting 2018 publications. I haven’t read any of the books in this list but I love hearing you discuss them. Congrats on 300 and here’s to another great reading year in 2019. What’s your number goal?
@BeautifullyBookishBethany6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Karen!!! I just had so many books I wanted to highlight! :-D I'm pretty conservative with my number goals, so I set it at 100.

How do you read so many books?? Do you skim pages? I don’t ask to be skeptical, I ask because I have so many books to get through and I genuinely would like to know how you do it and how many hours a day to dedicate to reading?
@BeautifullyBookishBethany5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! I did a video on this awhile back but it might be time to do an updated version. No, I don’t skim pages although from what I can tell I do read faster than average. I always have a physical book, an ebook, and an audiobook going and switch back and forth depending on what I’m doing and I listen to audiobooks on double speed (which doesn’t work for everyone but I actually pay better attention that way). I don’t watch much tv and I have a book with me all the time. In total, on an average day I probably spend 4 or 5 hours reading in one format or another. Sometimes less, sometimes more.
