Taylor Jenkins Reid is AMAZING! I’m currently just binging all of her books, I can’t believe I owned The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo FOR SO LONG before I picked it up. I’m ashamed. And the Nightingale, set a new bar for books. It was just amazing...I remember just being speechless after finishing it...Kristin Hannah, is definitely one of my favorite “new to me” authors 😍

I am reading One Day in December now!!!! The Nightingale was my ultimate favorite last year. Hannah is that author that gets you sucked into all her books. I have ordered several of the books on your top ten list including The Cruel Prince, The Nightingale and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I also just ordered the Throne of Glass (Book 1 in the Throne of Glass series) because so many people love that series. Do you remember if you really loved the first book in the series? I am wondering if it starts out great or gets better as you go along with each book.

Reaper is definitely in my top 5 as well. Like you I enjoyed the series but wasn't raving about it until now - book 1 gave me Hunger Games vibes but in a unique setting, book 2 was good but oh so BRUTAL. Reaper is everything and it is the book that makes me say OMG this series is amazing. I love that each character has their own clearly defined story arc now and the way she weaves it into the overall arc is simply flawless.

My top favourite books of 2018 were Truly devious by Maureen Johnson, The broken girls by Simone St James and The death of Mrs Westaway by Ruth Ware.

I have 100 pages left of Kingdom of Ash; I accidentally read over 500 pages yesterday, and the whole book has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Then, I’m on to Bear Town and The Cruel Prince, hopefully before they’re due back to the library. Suffice to say, your list made me really excited to get to those library books!

If I had to narrow all my 2018 reads down to a top ten, this would be my list: The Nightingale Kingdom of Ash, Tower of Dawn (I reread the rest of the series this year and they’re up there too but these two are my favorites.) ACOTAR series A Reaper at the Gates Caraval + Legendary I Declare War Tailor Made Strange the Dreamer Scythe + Thunderhead The Selection series (guilty pleasure)

Hi! I agree with you on The Nightingale. I think everyone should read it. it is a powerful book. Personally, I don't like Evelyn Hugo or any of the other books by Taylor Jenkins Reid, but I do respect them. I've tried two of her books, but didn't enjoy them. I might give them another shot though. I don't know anyone who doesn't like her books, so I feel like I'm missing something, lol.

My reading mood comes and goes, even tho I've always loved reading. This was one of those years that I really was in a reading mood but I just feel like there is not many awesome books that I've read this year :/ They all were kind of just okay, 3 stars on average. I do not give five stars easily and there is no five-star book on my Goodreads - there may be books not mentioned in Goodreads, the ones I've read many years ago and don't even remember. But not any five stars that I remember :D But anyway. I liked The Nightingale too, a lot. I was hesitant to read it and it took about 100 pages for me to get into the story. But when it did get interesting, I was hooked! Beautiful story with beautiful writing style and I cried a little at the end and that is something that I usually never do with books :D I really wanna read more from Kristin Hannah but I only have The Firefly Lane on my shelf and I haven't read it yet. I need to get more of her works. I'm from Finland and I also gave The Nightingale as a christmas present to my mom because it was recently translated into finnish and she does not read in english. She hasn't read it yet but hopefully she will soon!

My favourite book I read last year was 100% Are we all snowflakes and Lemmings by Holly Bourne (one of our talented and popular UK authors who is all about good mental health rep, feminism and friendship) It was by far my favourite of her books because it was so real and I related it to it so so hard, you should give it a read because it’ll really throw you into the bipolar mindset

So hard to narrow down? Cheer up. Year after year for the next bunch of decades you'll have an ever increasing number of books (19 for '19 etc.) you can favorite for the year. Progress. Trivia. Helly, who passed u in subs not long ago has gone over 100K. I'm not sure 90-some percent of booktube even noticed. As of now, no booktube channel is growing faster. Should or shouldn't it matter? That's a Q I leave to my betters. Meanwhile, I noticed the start of PoetryTube, a booktube niche spinoff. Hey, if TV shows can have spinoffs then booktube can too. :-)
