..... My best friend is Italian.. Growing up his mom made everything from scratch, and was constantly making TONS of food... She would keep me there for hours feeding me, talking, coffee, desert... She made the very best food I’ve ever had... Every single one of her Italian dishes were so good, it was hard to stop eating because it tasted so good... Food was a way of life for here... Everything revolved around food... I really miss those days...

I'd like to see that too. Though to be accurate, it should be called "Street boss" or "Capo(regime)" instead of boss, Mike has gone on record saying he never said he was a boss he was a capo or street boss but not a boss. If you want to eat some foods like The Family, I recommend looking up the Godfather Cook book. Great recipes.

My wife went to Italy when she was in university, she loves Italian food. However, during her trip she kept getting bloated and sick after certain meals. It turns out she had a gluten allergy after her trip, she always had symptoms growing up but never been able to pin point the problem. Now we make gluten free gnocchi and homemade pasta but her best dish is her risotto.

1. You’d think when a person reaches the age of 80… 2. Especially someone who claims to be a Christian… 3. That the transitory pleasures of this life would diminish… 5. And thoughts of ultimate accountability to God, would be the highest personal priority. 6. But, for Joseph Robinette Biden, avarice, deception, power & weakening America seem to be all he cares about. 7. You’d think it would be his impending judgment & eternal fate? 8. I just find it amazing.

At 12 years of age I visited NYC with my mom and dad. We went to the Empire State Building observation deck. I saw the twin towers nearing completion. So many things we saw it was unbelievable for a young man to experience. But I did get to eat a fine Italian meal at Mama Leone’s. Only a short walk from our Ohio hotel. Best Italian food I ever had, Italian violin player wandered through the restaurant. Deserts were awesome. Sadly Mama’s closed forever but I have my memories.

Interesting note that Venice merchants (Marco Polo) brought noodle recipes back to Venice and kickstarted pasta in Italy, so those two are my absolute favorite foods. Growing up Jewish my Momma would always make chicken soup with matzah balls, and sweet kugel, as well as meat balls for Passover and kosher jello (my great-aunt and bubbi’s recipes). In fact my momma still makes a wonderful meal during special holidays.

One of my favorites: spinach pie with pepperoni, cheese, black olives, anchovies. A good beer to wash it down.

This is FASCINATING to fat foodies like myself! My mom was a hillbilly from eastern Kentucky and WOW could she cook. One of my favorite things she got from that region is, as strange as it may sound, Chocolate Gravy! When they were dirt poor, as in 3rd world destitution, they could just get powdered coco stir in the milk til it thickened, pour it over a huge biscuit and voila’! Insanely yummy! Y’all can look up the recipe online. I always felt that she could have made us millions if we could have started a restaurant with her dishes! At church, growing up, she would cook for bereaved families at funerals and several times, restauranteurs would try to get her recipes or get her to cook for them but she lacked confidence or was backward thru her upbringing and never took them up on it. She passed from Dementia in 2013 and I miss her AND her cooking 🧑‍🍳

Yes, the Green Mill in Chicago is still around. They still have Capone's booth there.

You should write a cookbook. You and I love Mexican food. I lived in northeastern New Jersey, and yes, it was hard to find a good Mexican restaurant. My mom, who’s from Mexico, made her own Mexican food. Mom and pop Italian restaurants in that area were and still are, the greatest. I really miss Italian ices. It was also in northeastern New Jersey where I tried bagels and corned beef and hash. Great video. I agree with you on the border situation. I’ve heard some really horrifying stories, both political and social. Always thanks for your videos. I love watching them on commute in Japan. You’re still looking great!

When you mentioned soaking bread, reminds me of my Grandma. Same thing here, nothing compares to Grandma’s meatballs… May she rest in peace. She lived on Lorimer St.

Leave the gun, take the cannoli! But seriously we are originally from Long Island and my father worked for a sheet metal shop in Queens. He would go to the Batampte Pickle factory in Brooklyn and bring home their half sour garlic pickles by the gallon!!! I would be willing to bet these were the same pickles Lucky ate. They are the best pickles or at least were, ever made.
