As a photographer, I highly recommended Peter Costa’s channel. He’s a photographer by trade and makes watch videos. The cinematography of his video is on par if not better than urban gentry’s. He reviews from affordable to moderately luxury watches. Just One More Watch is also excellent mostly because of the host’s quirky and likeable personality. He also gained a doctorate while making weekly watch videos. He reviews mostly affordable watches with the occasional true luxury models mixed in. Top bloke.

Peter always gives me the sense he's holding back. Everything is always great, which never feels like the real world to me. Does he not want to offend in general? Is he trying to keep watch suppliers sweet? Who knows. So I would agree that they're useful videos to get a look at the watches, without doubt. The opinions on the videos? Not so sure.

@@HaveYouSeen it’s just how he reviews things. He does the same with big brands that will never sponsor anyone, not just microbrands who actually sponsors him. I like the overall positive vibe of his videos. After all youtube is mainly for entertainment. I don’t need others pre-digesting information and feed it to me as their opinions. I look at photos, videos and dimensions of the watch and make up my own mind.

@@Ballacha if that's what works for you - awesome. Meanwhile, I like people to have opinions. Even if I disagree with them, I like to see some passion. That's what's entertaining *to me*. I recently unsubscribed from Teddy Baldessarre for two reasons. One, TGV hammering on about watch dealers who review watches they sell. Two, Teddy’s continued collaboration with Kevin O’Leary, currently caught up in the FTX scandal. I follow everyone you mentioned except You’re Wonderful; I will check it out. I also follow Just One More Watch, Paul Thorpe and Jenni Elle. Oisin can be polarizing. He recently went after Britt Pierce, and had a very public spat with Nico Leonard over a watch he allegedly didn’t return after reviewing it. You’re certainly right about his video production - he takes full advantage of Venice as a location. I just subscribed to your channel.

About the same for me. The Mad Watch Collector is probably my favorite, that silly sense of humor brings the stuffed shirt out of the watch game. Hands in both his roles is funny and sometimes silly while still being informative. Gringa is gold. TGV brings class and history. And I'll sample a bit of others here and there. I will say, Tim brings us the most beautiful, unique pieces with attention to detail without bias, judgement, or opinion. He tells you why each one is worthy of someone's collection, even if it is not me. While the goal is obviously to sell the watch and make money, I truly appreciate the approach and opportunity to learn about each piece

There’s a few other ones: Chronoglide on direct every Tuesday, Kalle (the master watchmaker) introduces: guest watch collectors, specialist in certain fields but most of the time repairs watches. This will educate you on qualities in watches, ranging from marine chronometer, Recent Omega, Patek Philippe, etc. Well worth your time! There’s also The naked watchmaker, no not a porno title!😮But rather a watchmaker repairing and maintaining classic watches. The biggest problem with lots of these channels (that you mentioned)is they tend to be biased 😵💫, beware take them with a grain of salt. With watchmakers: the proof is in the pudding ! Quality and/or mediocrity 😉! You’re on the right track 👌❤️👍

As far as watches go, you clearly move in different circles than me. I have no rolexes or grand seikos or omegas in my collection. So in addition to Urban Gentry (who was my first watch channel) I highly recommend Just One More Watch and Relative Time, who both focus on watches that would be considered more affordable. For boots. in addition to Rose Anvil (who's the absolute top) Trenton and Heath, and Carl Murawski, you should consider Stridewise (who also dabbles in watches.) Eventually you should consider trying a good pair of Whites or Nicks, with the MP being my favorite. And if you wanted to complete your Hipster Trifecta, fountain pens are my main interest and there are many channels to consider: at the top are Figboot on Pens, sbebrown, doodlebud, and The Pen Habit before he went defunct. I just discovered you yesterday, but I admire your dedication to production values and your unique point of view. Please keep it up.

It's like when you see a band, influenced by another band you like. Good stuff. Also, kudos for making a list like this. In another guise elsewhere on the Internet, I make a podcast (not about watches!), and whenever I talk about other podcasts, the amount of people with hurt feelings that they weren't mentioned is always staggering. People seem to assume if you're a creator in a certain space, that you consume "all" the content in that space. Like you say in the video, there's not enough time for it. Maybe he’s gotten a little too Rolex/Tudor obsessed lately, but his content and insight are top-notch. The channels I hate are the ones about making deals, flipping watches, and/or have a prevailing obsession with watches as investments and status symbols. One of these KZbinrs said of the Rolex Explorer: “When I see someone over 30 wearing that piece, I think ‘God…I hope that’s not his grail piece.’” When I hear people talking like that, I throw up in my mouth a little bit. Here’s to the great channels, such as yours, that make substantial content that help enthusiasts enjoy the hobby even more.

My fave is MWC. The joy of watch collecting & ownership personified. Always fun, but never irreverent. It says a lot that people like TGV & Andrew Morgan are so ready to collaborate and, like yourself, TGV picked him to be one of the official reviewers of the Rangemaster. Aptly, he’s the Casio of the YT watch world. I went off Britt. Too sweet to be wholesome, dripping in well-veiled passive-aggression. OK content; just OK. You & Jenni show that you’re not happy to settle for a lower bar for female watch KZbinrs. I get the feeling that Britt is. As an Irish man, as much as it pains me to say, and especially because I love his work, but I despise Oisín (excellent pronunciation btw). He’s the personification of the expression,”If you meet an asshole in the morning, you’ve just met an asshole. If you’re meeting assholes all day, _you’re_ the asshole!”. Always beefing, always someone else’s fault. Never willing to apologise. Doesn’t pay what he owes. Isn’t afraid to go low quick. And he’s a COMPLETE snob. I’m still not entirely sure his last beef with Britt wasn’t manufactured to drum up views, but being unsure either way in & of itself isn’t a good thing, right? Nico said recently that he wouldn’t collaborate with TGV now. Maybe a few years ago but not now. The inference being that TGV is irrelevant. He couldn’t be more wrong. I enjoy Nico, in the same way as I enjoy watching monkeys piss into their own mouths, but it’s a universal truism that the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Nico is very much of the time; TGV is timeless. One channel I really enjoy is Talking Timepieces. Not “…with Tony” (Oisín’s little sycophant); just Talking Timepieces. Tiny channel. Just a middle-aged guy talking watches. If you enjoy Andrew Morgan for his voice then Alix will be a treat. He runs an hour long live chat every week and his aim is, as he puts it, “create content with a longer tail”, so he stays away from the the fashions & drama of the day and keeps his topics more generalised. He’s been collecting watches since before most watch KZbinrs were born and, aside from the odd snaffu (“Grand Seiko are about quality, so I don’t see why they’d let that quality slip when it comes to their bracelets”; Ouch!), he seems to be an absolute wealth of knowledge. He’s just one of those small creators that puts the “you” in KZbin. I like that. I donno, maybe it’s just my age 😄

Wow, so much to respond too : MWC was hand picked to be an official reviewer of the Rangemaster... as was I... :) I don't see the bad you're seeing in Brit, but that's fine. Oisin has been super nice to me, and I know there was some drama here and there, but I tend to go by how people treat me, and he has treated me very well. 'You meet an asshole in the morning...' love that saying, though the first time I heard it was on a show called Justified. I don't watch Nico, I can't get past the thumbnails, though I hear he's a nice guy. Never heard of Talking Timepieces but I'll try to check it out.

Thanks for sharing this list! I've seen videos from Urban Gentry and Federico. The others are new to me. I also like Terry Baldassarre, Jenni Elle, the guy from Just One More Watch, and of course the great Elizabeth Grant. 😉
