Early Payton Brees Saints 1.0 from 2006-2011 are great. I kept trying to share 2008 Saints #1 Offense but awful D made them 8-8...they kept getting blocked. Well if Throwback wont share them what the hell. Payton used a lot of BIG sets, 3-4 TEs, or 2TE and a FB. Every single down was a diff personnel grouping and formation. Lots of other teams tried to copycat that bewildering array but much of the time it just led to confusion and ugly football what route am I even running? Then later 2010s offenses just used 3WR a majority of snaps.

I almost forgot how good favre was man. I don't know that anyone has ever had a better arm. Certainly there have been some super good arms and better decision makers but favre was good man.

It's unfortunate that Favre couldn't win another Super Bowl and then Rodgers took this team to a Super Bowl win and 5 appearances overall in the NFC Championship
@bmorebirdsnest924 күн бұрын
5 NFC championship appearances with only 1 win out of those 5 is nasty work

I remember being at an optional study session for a college course during this game. couldn’t believe the Saints won. The week before, I think they beat the Browns on the road. And the following week was the Steve Gleason game.

People be amazed by Mahomes but Favre is the gun slinger no matter what. Loves and died by his gun on the field. He was doing no looks and everything way back when.

Drew Brees’s 2nd game as a Saint. Saints end up winning the Super Bowl in 2009 and the Packers won it in 2010.
