Well, our Bears should have taken care of our own business and beat the Vikings up there when we had the chance. Then we wouldn't have needed the Packers help. It also didn't help that the Bears got swept by the Packers in 2012. That's the real reason why Lovie Smith got fired even after going 10-6. The Bears started at 7-1 in 2012. Lovie's first few years with the Bears he did beat Green Bay. But after the Bears got Jay Cutler, the Bears under Lovie and Jay were like 1-10 or 12 against the Packers.

I’ve always felt that the 2012 Vikings were one of those teams that only managed to get into the playoffs due to other much better teams squandering their seasons. You had the defending Super Bowl champion Giants, who suffered from a common SB hangover. The Saints had the Bountygate scandal catch up to them, and I think Sean Payton’s suspension affected them psychologically. The Bears were on a roll at the beginning of the year, but then suffered from a late season slump, and the Vikings were able to take that final playoff spot due to having a better division record than Chicago.
@trentholio3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say any of those teams were better than the Vikings in 2012. Defensively, Minnesota stepped up from their abysmal 2011 season. Especially at the end of the year when they went on a 4 game win streak. They got hot at the right time, while the Bears and Giants struggled down the stretch. They also beat the eventual nfc champion 49ers earlier in the year too. So, no the Vikings weren't great that year, but you gotta give them some credit.
