To be honest prostitution is the oldest occupation in the world since ancient times. Not only in asia but more so in the West. Specially in the US in places that are called the wild west. Brothels are build near the gold mines in the 1600's to cater for the miners who are away from their wives or those who long for the companion of women. And they became the center of commerce where then sprout other businesses thus eventually became cities when population increases. Prostitution is one or the only way a woman can earn a living back then, specially when they don't own land for farming. This is a true piece of history that is part in every civilization. Denying this piece of history is denying the hardships of those women whom are, whether it can be hard to say and be proud of, greatly contribute to development of the society. So I don't want to see negative comments from Snowflakeses that are condemning Demon Slayer, the author or Ufotable by animating this side of the story that it's too sexual , that it's objectifying women, and a bad influence to children who are watching this anime. It's not the studio's job to supervise your children. You have to separate Anime from Children Cartoons. Anime might have sensitive topics that are part in the good story telling that makes it appealing to the older audience. People that are going on saying they want to cancel this show because of its sensitive topics- are all hypocrites. If you can't accept this, then to all the snowflakes - stay clear off of this show and try ruining other peoples fun. This is also a good period anime giving us a window to the lives of the japanese people in the taisho era brimming of history, heritage and culture.

Not only that, but prostitution paid for a lot of the nicer things that those areas with brothels had. Paved roads, hospitals, even churches. All paid for with prostitutes' earnings. The money the prostitutes made was spent back in the town, allowing it to prosper. Plus, brothels usually took good care of their women, as they were the money-makers, so they wanted them to have access to things like medicine and clean water. Prostitution is not only the world's oldest occupation, it's also helped prosperous areas develop. Even the church recognized this, saying that they couldn't take prostitutes' money UNLESS they came in and said their apologies first, then they'd gladly accept donations. Because it was just that profitable and beneficial to towns.
