The real reason Overhaul was screaming like that when Shigaraki took away his arms is that now he can't repair his boss like he planned to. He wanted to get the Hassaikai on top of the world, then revive the boss so that he'd be proud. But now he's trapped in that coma.

Overhaul thought of most of his minions as useless pawns. Shigaraki thought of the League as a reliable group he could count on. He's learning as he encounters more people. Stain taught him that using other forces as stepping stones was valuable. Izuku reminded him of what his conviction was. Overhaul taught him the importance of patience. As he moves through the series, he grows as a villain. The League isn't one to be messed with. Next, it's their turn.

I love that dynamic between Shigaraki and Overhaul, Overhaul seems to be the most strategic and likely villain to defeat Midoryia given his calm and calculated nature, and how Shigaraki is heavily dependent on his emotional output, but when it came down to the last minute and the most stress, Shigaraki was the patient one who held out till the end, and Overhaul was the one who panicked. I think that might also be because Shigaraki has gone his whole life being told he was a mistake and a monster for his quirk, and so have his comrades, giving them a strong familial bond. However with Overhaul he only recruited people with a awful past because they would be loyal, if Overhaul understood the difference between having pawns vs. friends, then he might've won. Anyways dont min me yapping

Nighteye was one of my favourite characters, but it's necessary to kill off characters can't give characters plot armour then it's too predictable and no emotional suspense or actual threats to the characters life knowing they will just survive and win. I like when a character can lose or even die, but it's emotional and sad. Season 4 was so good though and sucks for overhauls dad now he will die too because overhaul can't repair the dad since he lost his quirk. Only thing i'm still angry about though is they took away mirios quirk he was coolest character and then they didn't really give him much screentime after that

I don’t care what anyone else says, Overhaul, as much of a 🤬that he was with Eri, he was right on wanting to erase quirks and have the world and humanity return to being “normal” again. Just look at what quirks have done in this universe. Quirks have only caused destruction, just look at every single main villain in the series, they all had tragic childhoods that took place, why? Because of their quirks. In this world of MHA, the police are just normal people who arrest the villains/criminals after they are rendered unconscious from fighting heroes, but there wouldn’t be a need for heroes if villains, or in other words, people with dangerous quirks who had bad motives didn’t have those powers in the first place. There are a group of people known as “heteromorphs”, meaning people whose genetics give them features that deviate far from what's humanoid. This group of people has been mocked and called monsters by everyone else just because of their appearance, who they have no control over given that it’s their quirk that gave them those features. If you look at Izuku at the beginning, he was literally bullied and told to unalive himself by none other than Bakugou…just because he didn’t have a quirk. Not to mention that Izuku himself thought his life was over the moment he was told he didn’t have a quirk, and he was only a child then. Toga was called a monster because her quirk made her crave blood. Twice misused his quirk and led to his clones killing each other, leaving him doubting whether he was a clone or the real Jin himself, which led him to have a mental breakdown which he would carry with him for the rest of his life. Dabi, who literally burns himself every time he uses his quirk because his body is not compatible with it. And Shigaraki, who has a very sad fact, and that is: Shifaraki likes rain because it’s one of the few things he can’t destroy. Not to mention his backstory and the rest of the villains’. Then there’s Eri, who literally erased her father out of existence when her quirk manifested. True, Overhaul abused Eri, an innocent girl for her power to rewind, but there are other characters who have done far worse and people still like or appreciate a “good character development” (Endeavor *cough**cough*). Either way, I genuinely believe that Overhaul was the only character in the series who had a clear view of how messed up quirks were and their negative effects in the world, and let’s be honest, he’s cool af. My fav character deserved better tbh, not to mention that he wanted to repay his “old man” for taking him in as a child and he didn’t actually care much about his quirk as people think, as it is seen in the final scene when Shigaraki and compress take his arms away. He only needed his quirk to finish his work and erase all other quirks as he intended, and the reason as to why he was so distressed in that scene was bot because he lost his arms and his quirk(?) in the process, but because he realized that without his quirk, he wouldn’t be able to restore his old man and bring him back again. The worst that he did was abuse Eri for her power, as as messed up as that sounds, he always took things too far and went beyond his limits, meaning he did those things to Eri because he had faith in the fact that he could being restore her again, it still doesn’t make what he did any better or worse, however I highly doubt he would’ve done those things if he wasn’t able to bring Eri back after all those experiments. Either way, I genuinely believe Overhaul deserved a redemption arc, he deserved it.💜

Too bad Overhaul could only repair others physically, not mentally. Eri was always a valuable specimen to him, and NOTHING more. Even his "old man" was done with him after learning of his attitude, the dude was literally not treating Eri like a human being, just a lab rat. Even if he would achieve his end goal, do you honestly think he'd give a shit about what happens to her after she was dehumanized and tortured every day of her life for years? That's not something you come back from but he was not shown to care even slightly about that

You've got to remember though that Overhaul wasn't really wanting to destroy quirk society, that was just his attempts to manipulate and drive the heroes into giving up on Eri, or at least shaking them a little. His true motivations laid in the flashbacks, where he actually just wanted to place the Yakuza back on top of the food chain as repayment for his surrogate father taking him in. Everything he did was for his Dad, despite the twisted methods.

⁠@@ashyroy9454How so? Overhaul did all the things he did in order to repay his pop’s kindness for taking him in when he was a kid. And while what he did to Eri was f*cked up, what about Endeavor? He literally emotionally and physically abused his *entire* family, including his kids when they were little, and the mental abuse was so severe that it even led to one of his kids to burn himself in an attempt to get stronger and one day surpass his father, which is exactly what Endeavor wanted: to make his “perfect” masterpiece, and he did all that for himself, it was all because of his own selfishness, arrogance and narcissism. In contrast to Kai who just wanted to repay his pops - even when Compress and Shigraki took his arms, the reason as to why he was so distressed wasn’t because he had lost his quirk, but because he had lost (what he thought) was the only way to being his pops back. The only difference between both is that Endeavor started to regret his past actions but that was literally after all his children grew up, given that he started abusing his family after Shoto was born, he has been doing the same for about 15~ and only recently did he start to regret his past decisions and started to make amends for what he did. On the other hand, Kai hasn’t been in prison for that long and all he wants is to see his pops again, which are signs that he may have started to regret what happened after all of it transpired but that’s just my opinion and speculations anyway. So, who’s the delusional one again?

As a professional music educator, I always have my ear tuned in to the soundtracks of anime. GO BACK TO NIGHTEYE'S FINAL MOMENTS! The music actually acts as the final tone of the medical equipment attached to him, the high tone at the end being the sound of his flatline. The sweeping orchestra to set the mood of loss, all leading up to those final moments - beautiful!
