I think you forgot a tiny little detail, Faye was a giant, with the power of foresight, she probably saw multiple visions of the future, and so she interacted with Kratos in a way, that it would mean something more when the time came, like telling him to look after and protect Atreus... She also knew in the first game that when they reached Jotunheim, they'd see the wall painting with her/their prophecy/visions, and they'd understand that Faye knew what was coming. For example, I think what she argued with the other giants about in the Jotunheim mural, was whether they should flee, or stay and fight the Aesir, so when the elders decided to cast their souls into the marbles, and others decided to flee, she decided to stay with her family and prepare them for the future, but how could she tell Kratos and Atreus everything, if when her and Kratos met, they decided to leave their pasts behind, so she marked the way for them, and told messages in the past/present that would take in a WHOLE NEW MEANING in the future. And so, when Kratos was confronted with certain situations... He dreamt and remembered things that Faye had already foreseen and told him about without him even realizing. But I do love the notion that somehow she was communicating and guiding Kratos from behond the grave. Well, since time is relative, and quantum entanglement is supposedly a thing, we can say she was communicating with Kratos from the past to the future. Cheers!

This would confirm what I was thinking about Faye intervening at 3 critical points in the entire game so as to change the outcome. The first being to make Kratos leave home by telling him time running out, telling Kratos to protect Atreus at all costs which made Kratos forge the Spear to kill Heimdall & telling Kratos to "open his heart to the world as he did to her & he'll find every reason to keep living in it" which changed the outcome of his death & made Atreus also "open his heart to their desperation because that's who he is". I'm probably in the minority, but I actually enjoyed Jötunheim. It provided a nice break from the hype and fast paced gameplay, and gave you a much calmer and laid back realm. I am the type of person who likes to enjoy games and take it all in, so I'm never in a rush to finish a game, which is probably why I didn't mind the slower pace of Jötunheim. Besides, it was quite nice seeing Atreus just enjoy himself and the dynamic between him and Angrboda was nice to see aswell. I get that the majority of people don't have 6h a day to put into games, so it can definently be frustrating to have to essentially play an interactive cutscene for an hour or two, when that might be all the time you have to play that day. But for those who have time, I don't really get the need to rush games like this and be in a "GO GO GO!!!" type mode.

I think it’s both memory and present Faye, example when Faye told kratos time is running out, that was definitely actually Faye telling him that, but the stuff like when kratos and Faye were on the Boat with baby Atreus was memory, I think Faye gave kratos those memories because it’s important for the journey there on, he’s protecting Atreus so she gave him a dream of him with baby Atreus to remind him what he’s fighting for, she also says keep him safe at the end of that cutscene which I think is where the past memory turned into present Faye speaking to him

Good theory! But Kratos’s mental strength isn’t weak in the slightest for Faye to have access. 7:06 one of the things we didn't have explained to us is what happened while Kratos was in the light. How did Atreus kill all those elves. Did he use the axe? If he did, how? If he didn't, did the axe protect him on its own? Or did he somehow kill them all with just his bow? I wanna KNOW! I REALLY wish we had gotten a trilogy. There's so much we didn't learn because there was only so much they could fit in one game. Hopefully we learn in following games.

It's so funny that i didn't realise it or even think enough about this, i guess, because, he says it once in the very beginning of the game, and the next "dream" after that is much later, so i just completely forgot his words and experienced them as just the dreams, but meaningful dreams, like, it's the memories Kratos dreaming about because of his real worries in the present, so still connected and not just random dreams. Heres an idea of mine Thors children were born during specific episodes of Thors life that match their personalities. Magni the eldest is a semi-honrable guy by god standards,hence the eldest and born during Thors earlier days when he was a warrior and believed he was doing good etc. Modi is the middle child and is cruel and sadistic, just lacking the power. This was Thor during his days spent hunting and butchering the Giants. Thrud is the youngest and best of her siblings, Shes honorable and kind and truly cares for people. This coincides with the beginnings of thors redemption arc. This matches their ages with Magni sounding and looking like his early 30s, Modi seemingly around early to mid 20s, and Thrud being close to the age of atreus. If im right i wonder what this may mean for the circumstances of their birth and perhaps of all aesir gods This is my additional therory (im not sure about goddesses) Aesir Gods are only fertile during periods of extreme emotional and personality turmoil. The resulting child being the same as the parent's newer mindset. This one needs work lol If i recall correctly these line up with the lore pretty good tell me your thoughts DAY 1

I'm not sure if anyone else has commented this yet, but Kratos's armor in the Faye "flashbacks" is the same as the armor he's wearing in the current time. Either way I can't wait to see what comes next for these three awesome characters!

I think flat out, Kratos needs to be reunited with Faye.. the man has only ever longed to be happy, to have the love of his life. Kratos is such a broken and tormented man who in the original games sought forgiveness for what Ares forced him to do and to find death so he may be with them again. This brings me to my little theory in Kratos hearing Faye.. it's her telling him that she's still there and that he has a place with her in the light of Alfheim when his time comes. It genuinely breaks me that in literally every game, Kratos is sad and hurt because you as a man can relate (if you're a man playing the game) to the feelings of wanting those he loves with him again. If they are going to eventually kill him off (which I pray they never do because he's literally the most badass game champion to ever live.) I just hope they'll finally let him have peace in some form of afterlife with Faye, she is the true love of this legend. The man who has burned Olympus to the ground for vengeance, the man who traveled the world to escape his past and his pain. The man who beat the All-Father in order to finally set the 9 realms free, who is now the Norse God of peace. But the man who will forever be known, as the God of War.

@BakerBreakya Жыл бұрын
Some things on my mind/ theory’s about stuff. Odin wore royal blue, so did Faye, Faye maybe royalty/ family to the Aesir somehow. Faye is dead, stays dead but communicates only in dreams like moments due to a specific giant magic she learned from Ymir. Asgard still exists it’s just in ruin and monstrous magics will plague the Norse realm. Faye tried to defy fate selfishly and that’s why she fought Thor but she couldn’t win so she went through with it regrettably. Sindri gets revenge on Atreus by hindering some connection to Faye somehow. Finally, whenever the live action version is made it will fix things about the game and be cannon but couldn’t be put into a video game.

My theory is that without the brand that Freya gave to Kratos, he can see Faye in his dreams and hear her in the Light, but Atreus can't because he still has the brand. And Freya said that it would shield them from those would make their journey difficult. Obviously it applies to the Aesier, but could that apply to Laufey as well? Does Laufey have other intentions? And if so, to what extent?
@Kevink4240 Жыл бұрын
Have you ever noticed that when Kratos told Atreus " Open your heart to their suffering " he wasn't refering to his son 100% but more into his younger self as an image of his son! To spare humans rather than letting them be killed just because war demands so. Just like he did back in the day but it was like a mirage of his past mistakes that made Kratos actually opening his heart into those humans pain! Atreus was about to go on his own way anyways, but it was Kratos all along the main character whose Faye words were said! Correct me if I'm wrong or if this doesn't make much sense, but it does to me.

He (Kratos) needed to change... imagine Kratos going thru this journey without rok/Sindri/Freya/Mimir. Atreus played the role of "diplomat" during these 2 games. And Faye needed to give Kratos motivation to enact her quest for revenge. Kratos was hesitant to go down the same path again, killing Gods... but he made a promise and he needed to make sure Atreus was safe. Baldur showing up to his door set took care of the rest

One of my GoW theories is about why Kratos seems weaker in the new games. My personal theory (maybe I’ve seen other people say it too, but I dunno. I just kinda had the idea while playing) is that Kratos as a god is weakened by the fact that the Pantheon that gives him strength is basically gone. The people that worship those gods are either gone, no longer worshipping or have adjusted their religion. Basically we saw Kratos at the height of his power during a time when the gods of Olympus were powerful and worshipped by a massive civilization. Now Kratos is basically a “base model” god, with the bare minimum of power, immortality and “magic” that comes with it, and maybe there are a handful of worshippers keeping him going. He can no longer wrestle titans and tank hits from massive gods… but he doesn’t mind. He never wanted that power anyway and I’m sure he would gladly accept being weaker if it meant no connection to those gods or their realm. That’s just my headcanon and it works for me. It also fits with Atreus/Loki growing in power as well, since he’s in the much more active realm where his Mother is from. As a mixed god he should be able to draw power from at least two different sources, and Giants seem to naturally have their own magic and strength unrelated to worship or the gods. So Ragnarok likely won’t affect him much. I’m excited to see how he grows and changes, now that he knows what and who he really is!

Here is a theory, I have proposed it before but anyway, here is the theory: In GOW 4 when Atreus gets really angry because the Modi was annoying him and does his Spartan rage thingy and falls unconscious, while Kratos is carrying him to Freya you can see that in the air there are red and orange particles, maybe this is because he was super close to dying and an alternative version of fimblewinter is starting, we know that for it to start the god doesn't have to be completely dead because at the end when it starts snowing Baldur says "snow" before dying.

I have a theory, santa monica likes to go full circle. Frigg and Freya are the same person, Atreus and Loki are same person too but for some reason his name is more known as loki and doesn't remember the name atreus, and there's also utgarloki, Atreus being a shapeshifter can be all these 3 people, or he could have even used more names and those names could've become popular that it's the one shown in the propecies. Angrboda doesn't also have a name in the prophecies but she clearly exists so she must've also have another name. It's far fetch but it goes something like this, Atreus looking for other giants is a thing in the present he is doing with Angrboda, but his only regrets are Brok's death and Odin's choice. Kratos said that his Greek norns have power to travel through time, but Mimir or was it Freya said that their Norse norns doesn't have that power and if they do, Odin would use it. What if they actually do but just didn't present it to Odin, but presented it to Sindri to make Atreus go back to the past and save Brok by changing Odin in the past so that there would be no ragnarok and Brok would not have to die. With that Atreus can never say no to Sindri and Sindri will always find any means for Brok to come back. Then Atreus with Angrboda and Sindri goes back in time through the norns to change the past, but as it is the past the don't use their names but use other names instead and those names were the ones used in the prophecies. Present Sindri could've made a bottomless drink and tried to get past Thor drunk so he won't go on a murder spree. Present Atreus could have tried to stop past Sindri and Brok to make mjolnir so brok wouldn't have an eventful accident and he used the name Loki instead, as it was written in legends that loki interfered with the creation of the hammer that's why its handle is short. Then they accomplished it but the more they change things, the worse it got in the present. Sindri was probably okay but what they saw in the present was so bad that Atreus went back again to undo what they did make sure ragnarok would happen. And things like mjolnir was formed but it has a shorter handle instead and brok's thing happened and he could've undid a lot more that he changed like suggesting to Freya to put that spell on her son or Odin kill the giants and to pursue the mask. And at the end of his journey, to make sure there will be ragnarok he realized in all of the names he used, he is also ragnarok and he would have to stay and wait in muspelheim and wait and he waited and lost his mind but only had some stuff left in his mind which is he must cause ragnarok and he loves sinmara which could also be another name used by angrboda when she went with him in the past. His words could also have more meaning when he said sometimes loving someone is choosing the lesser pain. So Atreus stayed there using the excuse to Angrboda that he would wait for Surtr so ragnarok would happen and Angrboda waits for him in the place where they could go back but he never came.

Can’t wait for this to release on PC, hopefully sooner than later. After 100% completion and platinum, the next time I play this will be on PC Edit: That way I can play it on the go and not have to haul a massive console everywhere for work

I honestly don't think this is a theory, I think this is 100% what they were going for. Think about it the so called flashback scenes don't really make sense if you just look at them as flashback scenes I feel like they are both, for example faye telling kratos "time is running out and there is much to do". If we look at this as just flashbacks what is she referring to, her death why be so vague about it if that's the case? You also have faye saying "if we have the power to limit the harm it can cause, we should act" kratos took this line to heart with his fight with garm. The second scene with faye seemed like a pure flashback because faye says" we are not who we were we must be better" is what kratos was trying to do in the entirety of god of war 4 and before by mastering his rage. The final scene is both a flashback and faye communicating with kratos, the memory is of her talking to him about death and how they will always be together, then the actual communication starts whe she tells him to open his heart, reason being is because if you take this as a pure flashback it makes kratos in god of war 4 seem like he actually went against Faye's wishes and it took him years to figure out the meaning. To also add to your points kratos also looks at the lake of souls after you finish the boss fight in alfhiem and you also have the talks of how it is the nature of a thing that matters, not its form. Kinda like kratos despite being an outsider is destined to be worshipped because he successfully changed his nature. Brilliant video kuba, I think this is your best yet seriously.

The story was rushed to be one game instead of a trilogy, which is good to not drag things out, but bad for not connecting the dots or connecting them half-assed-ly.

Nonsense. They are not just dreams but I doubt she could communicate between realms. Like civilization realms.

Perhaps in the next game, we follow Atreus in his travels with no involvement from Kratos. Faye reveals herself to her son and helps guide him during his journey. Towards the end of the journey Atreus discovers that it is not his mother guiding him but Athena. Since Athena failed with Kratos, she attempts to use his son to fulfill her goals. Just a thought a much better writer could build into an awesome story...

As much as I like Faye, part of me does kinda wish we hadn’t seen Faye. It felt like it…took away from more of her. The greater gravity of her as a person I feel is seen in her absence than her presence, if that makes sense.

Brotato chip... ya gotta talk about Egyptian theories. Start with "will atreus have a child" My theory on this concept is that because loki will never birth hel or fenrir, Maybe we can combine hel and fenrir into an egyptian god birthed by Atreus. So... God of the underworld who looks like a dog. That'd be Anubis in egypt!! Run with it, guacahomie dip.

I love these theories about time in the GoW universe. I think they make perfect sense. Faye definitely will have a role in the future Atreus-led game. But I think we should talk about Sindri's role as well, because he could very well be a great foil to Atreus without being an outright antagonist. Let me explain. According to this theory, Atreus will develop the ability to communicate and travel between Realms through dreams. So he will have to sleep a lot, and this power may grant him the ability to look for the remaining Giants very effectively. In short, Atreus is moving forward ; he progresses in time. On the contrary, I imagine Sindri (who is now supposedly in the depression stage of grief) will be kept awake by torment. Incapable of sleeping. Now that would be purpusefully ironic, as "Sleep" was the best advice he could give to Atreus, and the latter can give him that very same advice in return. One can also theorize that Sindri will be plagued by nightmares of some sort, going through his traumatic experience in the Lake of Souls again and again each time he falls asleep ; thus being stuck in the past instead of moving forward, instead of "letting go". Then maybe Atreus will have to help him sleep so he can subsequently help him heal using his "dream powers". I can imagine these two going to the past trough dreams so Sindri can have a better understanding of his current situation (when someone asked Adam Harrington what's in store for Sindri next, he answered "Time will tell...", which could mean that time is literally the key for a (hopefully) brighter future). I also want to add that some of Sindri's past actions have been suspiciously convenient, especially when he gives Atreus the mistletoe arrows. Maybe Faye's spirit has influenced him as well, using him to give Atreus the means to defeat Baldur, though he isn't aware of it. Plus Adam Harrington has hinted in an interview that Sindri may see Faye again, so my guess is that he, along with Atreus, will directly meet Faye in the light of Alfheim or in the "Dream Realm", and hopefully she will find the words to help him let go of his resentment and his self-hatred. That's my theory for the future game ! Now that I think of it, some theories suggest that the Giants have fled to another Pantheon, but what if they're hidden in this Dream Realm, or hidden in Time, instead ? That would be sick !
