Look into pitching out the clicker torque wrench too. I was waiting for him to get into the subject of a beam style torque wrench being more accurate when used properly. They made clickers so any yoyo can use them.

Also when running a head down , after the first stage go back and check the first head bolt again. I'll almost guarantee it's loose ... keep running the loop until they don't move anymore before proceeding to the next stage. Bolts and torque and lubricants , thickness of item torqued ... It all factors in, and metal is a little more flexible than we realize.
@MrTheHillfolk
@MrTheHillfolk 4 жыл бұрын
@@dielauwen Because at low torques , friction doesn't come into play too much with a fastener. So it's easier for everyone to torque something to a low number because of the friction. Maybe you lubricated the bolts and the next guy didn't. The guy who didn't isn't gonna have the same clamp load on his part. Some manufacturers want bolts lubed , some don't , some are very fussy about what kind of lubricant to use. All that is gonna change the clamp load. Adding degrees of turning , it's easy to figure out the clamp load and how much by stretch they want and what kinda clamp load they want. Ever seen a rod bolt torqued by the thousands of an inch stretch ? They don't even tell you : oh 50ft pounds .... no it's measured in thousanths of an inch. Way more accurate that way, you know the fastener size and the stretch , they can determine the clamp load from that.
