Balance between orchestra and piano is dead on as is the whole recording sound. Piano sounds fantastic!

Fazil Say feels amazing and captures all the nuances of Ravel's music. This Piano Concerto is played brilliantly. On YT you can listen to my favourite Ravel's Sonatina performed by him: this is probably the best performance I've ever heard. Why is this not on the CDs?! I really don't understand that.

ich habe sehr gute Aufnahmen gehört, von Pianisten wie z.B. Helene Grimaud, Martha Argerich, Yuja Wang, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli und viele andere, jede hat natürlich seine eigne Spielweise und Charakteristik und doch, es gibt manchmal Darbietungen die sich fundamental unterscheiden oder in Bereiche hineinführen, die vorher unhörbar waren oder eine Sprache sprechen die noch vorher nie gesprochen wurde. Diese Aufnahme hier mit Fazit Say und dem hr Sinfonieorchester ist so eine Erfahrung. Es war geradezu erschütternd was ich erlebte nachdem ich da hineingegangen war, in diese Musik.

ja, Helene Grimaud ist hier auch meine Favoritin. Ich glaube, was mich bei Fazil Say berührte ist eine gewissen leidenschaftliche Seite, die ich gar nicht an Jazzelementen festmachen könnte, sondern hier eher einer spätromantischen Lyrik zuordne.

Oui !...c'est une chance...et je regrette de ne pas vous avoir vue!...la musique est le seul langage universel...
