In case you're wondering: are there really that many phantom thieves? No, these most of these characters are Phantom _Idols,_ not actual Phantom Thieves. Phantom Idols are found by Merope ( Velvet Attendant ) and are basically cognitions. The only actual Phantom Thieves are 08:32 Wonder, 08:04 Cattle, 07:46 Closer, 06:20 Soy, and 02:14 Wind. There will be more Phantom Thieves added as the story progresses. I'm pretty sure most of the this game's audience will be either people happy for gachaslop or people who really want to collect their favorite canon characters (and eventually P4 and p3 characters since they said they'll be added)

I feel like aside from the special costumes (bathing suits and the ice skater fit), most of the designs fit in nicely with the rest of the cast. Maybe a few exceptions but none of them feel “un-phantom thief-like” to me

Aside from his aesthetic looking like Prince Akechi almost 1:1, I find Leon's design and animations to be so clean. Arguably the most impactful and satisfying AoA pose out of everyone.

Man I really feel like Atlus could have made their turn based gacha as a whole new IP and cooked with it. I really like Star rail and im sure if the same people behind Persona or at least some of them were involved it would have been great. What they did borrowing not only the persona name to reduce risks but also the whole P5 style it just feels like a "cheap" knockoff even if it doesn't look like a bad game. And yet I won't hate on it cause hopefully now Atlus can get it's founding here and not by re-releases and overpriced DLCs

​​@@Nobody-sf4cv Don't forget Erina and Toshiro, though they might be registered as 1 unit in P5X due to narrative reasons. That makes the total of 14 for console titles characters. There's 2 more based on the main story direction and opening intro. Ikenami and Aran briefly appear in the opening and main story, and Aran recently has more focus in chapter 3. Some datamines reveal their codenames are Enco and Polter, and likely fill up the last 2 classes Enhance (Support) and Submission (Debuffer). Though still agree that it's a lot of Phantom Thieves for P5 generation.

the game looks good for a gacha game, but it does still seem like gachaslop and fanservice with no originality since it copies literally everything from persona 5, and it may be the same time and place as persona 5, but the aesthetics and art style is how joker perceived the world, the art style should at least be somewhat different for wonder's perspective, literally nothing has happened to him nor is he massively affected by anything prior (to my knowledge), so why does he see the world the same as joker who experienced injustice and the cruelty of society firsthand?
