2005 Billet Rotec R3600 First run in 17 Years!

Back in November 2005 Rotec Aerosport (then Rotec engineering) built this very early R3600 in fact it was of only 5 engines built with billet machined heads. Shortly before us switching to a cast head for all engines. Interestingly the customer insisted this engine not be test run. So now in September 2022, some 17 years on, the engine gets and overhaul with upgrades and then onto the test rig. After 17 years in storage, will it run? Let’s find out.

How do you know if all cylinders are running properly? Ie no misfires

Can it be run with the shaft facing up? For use in a helicopter for example.
