What would be more interesting is long term expenses. Most of us "Cake Eaters" keep a vehicle long term. How long is the main battery's life expectancy. How much will it cost to replace ?. What is the expected cost for the monthly payments for all the nessrssery applications and subscriptions required for regular daily operations ?. How long to the tires last cost for replacement ?.

On a 120 Volt any car will. Nobody typically uses a 120 volt

Why would someone break a window? Key a car? Same reasons. You can't physically put your finger In a wall outlet unless you screw it off the wall. Unless you have the smallest thinnest fingers in the world

You actually bring up a really good point about safety with those ports being exposed. Somebody malicious could put a paperclip or something in between the ports so when you plugged it in it would spark/short out and could start a fire or something. Hope they see this!

Or dump water in there. I do wonder what would happen of a lot if water gets inside the connector

They (and Tesla, and all brands) have short circuit protection in the charging system. It is a very basic and inexpensive thing and also a legal requirement. The charging ports themselves are also smart and are not connected to the BMS (battery management system) until it can sense and determine exactly what is connected to it. You can cut a live charging cable and that will also near instantly kill all power. About the only way to really get them to be a danger is in a violent crash where internal systems and the batteries themselves get compromised. If someone has a screwdriver and wants to mangle your charging port, that same screwdriver will also work even easier to pry a locked charging door open. On cables in somehow locking to a car while in use, that might be a good solution to prevent kids or whoever from unplugging them. Probably a good idea.

Locking the Charging port would have to be a non electric solution. if you had lost power it would lock you out of the ability to charge the vehicle without first boosting the vehicle.

Well yeah! If you charge it in the same outlet you use to charge your dildo. you need a 220 V system. It can actually charge as fast as over 200 miles of range in one hour.

Problems with the Tesla, If your battery is dead, How do you open up the charging port to charge it in the case of an emergency? You can't, so the Hummer is safer. They put locks on fuel doors to stop people from siphoning fuel. No one's gonna be sucking electricity out of your EV with a hose... In cold weather climates those flush Tesla door handles don't open because they freeze shut... the Hummer, however had cold climates in mind when they designed it. In Teslas there is no battery conditioning that keeps the battery from getting too hot or too cold and heavily affecting range. The Hummer, however will always keep that battery at an optimum temperature by heating the battery when its too cold and cooling it when its too hot, like a block heater in an ICE vehicle. Tesla is a computer company that made a car, and GM is a car manufacturer company that made another car and wont forget what they've learned from over a 100 years of making cars.

I'm not very smart, so I tested out your first problem, I touched all parts of the charging port with a screwdriver, even crossed points together. Not so much as a spark. None of the 3 electric trucks have locking charging ports, and that's probably why. As far as not having a light, not sure what to tell you there. My ED1 has a light the moment you open that door, it also has running board lights all along the side of the vehicle.
