The excessive begging and pressuring for the child to go alone would have made me super suspicious to what his intentions might be. My own mom never learned that, unfortunately. Me, my sister, and my brother were all subject to sickos because mom couldn't stand being alone for a while. Youngest sister was taken from mom at birth, so I never met her. Thankfully, she's never had to experience that kind of hell. My own kids go nowhere but school without either me or their father and I'm a bit of a helicopter parent now.

She went on to marry that man and now she's been married to him for over a year and strangely she doesn't leave the children alone with him anymore, even preferring them to be out in the city on their own in the middle of the night while she's at a "reunion". A good friend of mine is a divorced mama and her two girls only met the new man in her life after 6 months of dating, when she was sure that it was serious between them. And they met at a playground, it took another while before she would bring him home, and they were together for over a year before he was alone with her girls. Not because she didn't trust him, but because she's a mama first and foremost and she didn't want her children to be with someone they would have to loose if it didn't work out, so she wanted to be really rational and sure about it. my children are never in a location that I don't know

though this happened a long time ago, i'm still shocked how children can't walk the streets alone in the US. I live in Kosovo and i started walking alone to school at 5 years old. kind of shocking too see how its so different there.
@maicoltenjou75723 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you are and how strict your parents are. There's plenty of kids walking to and from school, some as young as four.
@UnknownUser-j3n4 ай бұрын
Its mostly big cities that are more unsafe i guess. In towns and rural areas, kids probably walk alone to schools or bus-stops i am sure.

i grew up in Waukegan during the time this was going on, and all I can say is that it was a different time back then. I know I was in the single digits and I could be outside playing but had to be back inside when the street lights came on. Ps I moved to Kenosha during middle school so for me, this episode hit super close to home....

And this is exactly why parents should always tell their kids regularly, to never, ever talk to strangers. And single mom's, please, be aware you are always an easy target for evil people.

That would be the day where two adults I didn't know playing with my children in the front yard I am going to invite in for dinner. That's crazy, as soon as I saw them I'd tell my kids to come in.

Can we please not victim blame? It could happen to anyone of yall. Monsters are everywhere. They aren't just strangers. Even your partner, your family members, your friends could turn out to be a monster. Anyone of them could be the devil in disguise. Imagine being the mother, and having folks like you judging her. Don't be so fcking heartless!

I'm so glad that they. Caught both of these monster's they we're definitely ruthless and evil with full of rage and hate I remember when this happened R.I.P to all the victims and their families as we'll!
