I’m really paranoid about the effects but thanks for talking me down. I bought one and it’s still in the box because I’m still resarching how to ventilate a room while printing. BTW I tig welded for a major airline for 30 plus years and I just retired..luckily I still have healthy lungs..cardio 4 to 5 times a week plus weights and stuff.

Good job speaking up about this! Vented print tents all the way. Never ABS and a space that is easy to clean regularly. 👍

Another great video! I can definitely attest to the dangers of fdm. The first printer I bought was a prusa mini and I operated it out of my single bedroom apartment (with no ventilation). After about 3 days of printing, I started sneezing a lot, my eyes were itchy, I started to get headaches and I was very nauseous and my girlfriend felt the same way. I had no idea my 3d printer was the problem until I found out about the dangers of micro plastics and VOCs. Needless to say, I now filter and exhaust the fumes from my printer after that awful experience. I also keep them in the garage now.

Plastic melting and some chemicals pouring out... No surprise there. Just have enough distance and fresh air.

I'm curious with the speed of printers now should we be talking about 5 printers instead of 30 as far as whats dangerous? I got a bambu lab A1 mini and I've noticed more smell coming from it. I think its just because its putting out more plastic faster.

I am choosing an FDM printer instead of a resin one for health concerns. Good video as we must be careful when it comes to our health.

so would you say your fine to use resin printers as long as you have ventilation and wear all the PPE?

I have one question I have one fdm printer but I am printing frequently almost everyday but no overnight prints, my printer is in my bedroom and I only use PLA because I know that's safe I also crack open a window that has a visor but still has a some small holes in it to ventilate, so overall im fine correct?

If you print 24/7 in a tiny room without ventilation then YES the answer is it will kill you. For the rest , stop smoking/drinking/painting or sanding in your house or using diesel or petrol in your cars and then be worried about FDM printers....
