took my GE today. and about 60% was these type of problems. I just had to guess. but atleast I found your channel. not to many others cover water resources problem like these

Hey! Wow, 60%?! I'm assuming you took the Environmental Fe exam? Make best use of these videos for the FE and the PE. We don't know whether you passed or failed and the hard part is waiting now. Thank you for the comment and I wish you all the best.

@@directhubfeexam it was the civil. I just got a version of the test that was more weighted towards microbial kinetics and mass transport problem and water treatment plants stuff. Vs. the usual hydrology. And water runoff. I’m assuming I failed cause I didn’t study for water treatment and microbial stuff. I usually get more hydrology focused problem. When I took the test the last 2 times.

In working out the equation, during the mass balance portion, you took out Qr from both sides, but then redefined Qo to included the recycled value. Wouldn't the Qo just be 2MGD throughout the entire problem?

I'm really confused about how the units cancel in the left side - 2.9 MGD x 3500 mg/L ~ shouldn't i convert these units to all be the same?
@directhubfeexam6 ай бұрын
Since we want the final unit to be MGD in the end, we will keep all the flowrate units in MGD. Note, for wastewater (US system) problems. We typically keep the flowrate in MGD and concentration in mg/L. Here's another good example where we do this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGe4qWiEjsqEaKc&ab_channel=DIRECTHUBFEEXAMPREP

Why can we assume the RAS and WAS concentrations are the same? It doesn't make sense to me conceptually.
@directhubfeexam5 ай бұрын
Since it's the same sludge coming out the secondary clarifier from the bottom, then their concentration is the same.

Whenever I distribute the 20 I get 40-20Qw. Combining like terms would get me -19Qw. I added that to the other side and finished my math and I am not getting your answer. Thank you for your videos

I have found my mistake. I did not multiply the Qw by the 9000 before solving. Thank you again for your videos.

Would this be good for someone taking the civil PE WRE?

Is it too late to register when my exam is on Sunday 😂

Haha just a little bit 😅 If you've been studying consistently so far, I would say just go in there and give your best shot! You can use the next few days to review your practice exams. Don't forget, to rest well, eat well, and get any sleep you can get a day before the exam. I never recommend studying a day or two before the exam. You can do this Muna!

@@directhubfeexam I didn’t start until a three weeks ago 🥹 and now I can sense how I should’ve spent more time I am having problems with my environmental chemistry other than that I feel like i can do well. I only have one practice exam where can I get more?

@@Munchmellow Hello Muna! Oh, that's a short time frame! If you feel ok with those other sections you should be good! No one will know everything for this exam since there's so many topics. Don't stress it. It's the fundamentals that we must know to get that passing score. Here is a helpful reddit post someone made some time ago discussing resources for the FE environmental: www.reddit.com/r/FE_Exam/comments/srsna6/passed_the_fe_environmental_jan_2022_on_my_1st/
