go into falcon Knight from Assasin and she was a monster for me ... just stack avoid abilities on her give her 2 levin swords+, with the Falcon knight Avo plus, Lethality and some more avo abilities .... I could just fly her into the midst of the enemy dismount her and have her take out half the map before my other forces even got there .....

Falcon Knight just destroys everything especially if they have an access to bow. I was having difficulty dealing with Blue Lions final map until I send in Leonie, literally untouchable. I can only imagine what Petra can do since she's already sweeping for me as an Assassin.

​@@soicanremember Well basically she will do what she does as Assassin but with the mobility of a flyer .... As sure you do lose the 20 boost to Dext Growth from Assassin and that exclusive combat art ... but you get 10 to stength additional 10 to HP and 5 to Res, the mobility as mentione and all the avoid boosts together with the dex growth you already should have which should make you near uninhabitable and with her natural crit and Lethality from mastering Assasin. Basically I think If you want to go Falcon Knight the progression should be Pegasus Knight into Assassin into Falcon ... But Yes Petra and Leonie base wise are pretty similar so they both make great Falcons... But I think Petra is slightly better because of her Personal..... Because of her slightly better Luck ... which helps with her crit rate for when Lethality does not trigger.

She just wrecked whole sides of the map on her own as emperor for me its like a fortress knight that can actually move. Huge damage output and rarely can be hurt.

@@tonymack She's really really good up until the last two maps, where most of the enemies have high magic damage. She gets punted into oblivion, ended up having Ferdinand tank as PLD with Aegis. The mastery for Emperor is nice, but not as good as Seal Def on Wyvern Lord for that juicy debuff which allows bow knights to shred things for you. This is stupid good for the last few maps, since Bow Knights safely outrange enemy monsters, and everything has massive resistance so mage bombardiers become neutered :( Since you get access to both at roughly similar times, and you only have so many missions until the end of the game on Hard, it's better to level Wyvern Lord instead of Empress IMO.

@@tonymack stat growths can play a huge part. Since the armor classes have slowed Spd growth, they get doubled often. That means with every point lacking in Res, 2 more damage is received. By endgame the HP pool is like 60-ish so 3 fewer points in Res (for example) is 6 more damage taken, 10% of your health pool!

funny doing my church route of black eagles i made my petra a falcon knight and even tho she doubled everyone she did like 5x2 damage without giving her a brave or silver+ weapon to units with 50+ hp and had a 50ish% chance to do double her total damage in a single hit and since rng hates me it low key made her a unusable unit even bernadetta wielding a lance did more than her

@@whimsicalchronicles8798 And this is why you put her into a class with strength bonuses first. I've learned my lesson from two times my Bernie got speed screwed up until becoming a falcon knight. She's one of my dedicated regulars for all routes. In BL I switched her over from a brigand (gotta have that Swift Sparrow) to assassin to keep her speed up, and since all horse-riding classes give a massive speed penalty, she's probably gonna need it when going into bow knight.

@@sorenfan1964 Personally, if you still play Three Houses, might I recommend the line of “Noble > Soldier > Archer > Cavalier > Sniper/Paladin (Doesn’t really matter which) > Bow Knight”? Bow Knight is just a perfect ending class, and one I recommend almost any unit who has some proficiency in Bows walk down. Bernadetta walking down the Cavalier Class isn’t important for Desperation, but rather, for Vengeance. That thing can hit for 30 to 40 damage, even on Armoured Units on Maddening. Sniper… isn’t really all that good for her, but it is a natural progression for Bernie, more natural than Paladin, so… Cavalier just makes her a weaker Bow Knight. Need I say more? Soldier gives you access to the Combat Art “Reposition”, which moves a unit to the opposite side of where they were when the skill was used. If you’re using a class with Canto, it also allows Bernadetta to use her remaining movement. On Hard or Maddening, this is essential. Noble’s Mastery (HP +5) gives Bernie more room to take damage (Strengthening Persecution Complex, as well as Vengeance). Overall, though, those are only my opinions, coming from someone who has spent a combined 500-ish hours in about seven months, and who’s played Maddening more than Normal and Hard combined. I feel they are pretty logically justified, but I figured I’d pipe up, as they are (partially) uncommon.

Bow Knight literally has worse growth rates than sniper in every way and worse combat art. Sniper is just overall better class for Bernadetta, since it has growth rate for DEX, STR and LUK, you know, stats that help her kill foes as a bow user.

I made Ferdinand a wyvern lord myself, made a heck of an evasion tank. His personal ability plus the alert skills from the flying tree really helped, stuck an evasion ring on him too and essentially just sat him infront of bosses,and choke points to let them try to feebly hit him.

@@zekdom that's why you dont take him through cavalier. Take him through brigand by grinding his axe proficiency a little before switching back to riding lance. Get death blow, as well as the strength growth boost from brigand without losing out on speed from cavalier. Then take him into paladin. With this path, he can either end in paladin or continue on into great knight. Personally, I end him in paladin, give him the Cichol lance and shield, and spam swift strikes since it essentially lets you double anything with the added boost of desperation. With Lancefaire, potentially double Lancefaire if you grind enough, Death blow, and good 45% base strength, as well as some decent dex, swift strikes hits hard as hell.

Side note: *ALWAYS GO MAGE FOR MAGIC USERS.* Fiendish Blow quite amazing, and Priest's Miracle is awful (are you really going to risk a Divine Pulse charge on the RNG hope that your HEALER survives with 1 HP???). As for any Axe users or War Master candidates, *GO BRIGAND.* You get access to Death Blow, which gives +6 Str when initiating combat. This is significantly better than Grappler's combat art which is restricted to the class. It's more preferable to have Death Blow over Armored Blow for any tank, because you could potentially one-shot something using the massive Strength stat. Since you will rarely double as a tank, you are eating free hits if you do not kill them outright, making Armored Blow largely pointless. Additionally, Armored Blow is only active when *you initiate combat* so it's useless for enemy initiations.

@@usernameusername6600 I suppose yeah Divine Pulse gets a little silly towards the end with that many charges, but I find it far more useful to have a healer who can do damage than a healer that might survive off of a % chance. Don't sleep on Aura or Seraphim, when paired with Fiendish Blow they can one-shot squishy enemies for you and do respectable damage to monsters.

@@lightbrand_ in the end it's up to what the comp needs. Since I had Mercedes and Linhardt, they collectively had 6 charges of Physic and early on there's not enough damage taken to require the +10 healing (it's huge overkill when the HP pools are only in the 20s/30s). If you only have 1 healer, then it's worthwhile to specialize in Priest for extra charges. There's also another consideration, like whether or not your healer has good offensive capabilities. Most of the female healers prefer to spec into Gremory later on, at which point they become magic powerhouses. Fiendish Blow is a worthy pickup so they can nuke or heal. Marianne as Holy Knight is also a good offensive unit using the Aura spell and her relic, Blutgang, while doing good healing. Linhardt is the odd one out, with only Nosferatu as his offensive Faith option making him unfit for Holy Knight and Gremory is femald-exclusive, thus leaving him as Bishop.

That’s Bishop not priest. Priest gets heal which is useless because no healers would ran out of heal anyway. Only thing good about priest is heal+5, which pales in comparison to fiendish blow mastery. Your healer honestly does fine as a mage. Bishop vs warlock is another story because bishop is good class unlike priest, but for mage vs priest, there’s little reason to go priest first.

Something I would point out is at a character doesn't need to end up in a master class at the end. In this group of students I would actually recommend to keep Linhardt in the advance class of bishop due to it being the only male class at has access to white magic use X2 since extra physic and wrap uses might be better than the 3 move from holy knight. Also Linhardt won't just have to compete with that other person for the staff but every other magic user in your army since everyone can use it, having the associated crest only increases the HP healed per turn which isn't that great compared to it's universal magic range +1 effect.

Agreed. Several of these recommendations include master classes with different skill sets that don't provide any significant bonuses from their previous class. Suggestions like Paladin > Great Knight or Paladin > Bow Knight offer no tangible increases in base stats or growths, and have abilities tailored to an entirely different skillset. You wouldn't always want your cavalier that's been building his lance upwards all game to lose Lancefaire for bow range with a low ranked skill, would you? Likewise Great Knight requires a heavy investment in axes to even certify, and while it does keep lancefaire, it also sacrifices a point of movement, andthe gain in defense isn't generally significant enough to justify moving out of Paladin unless you're specifically seeking the mastery skill. In my opinion it should really only be considered as late game movement bonus for your armor knights, rather than an expensive (and minimal benefit) option for a Paladin that would be better served sticking to their mastered class. While the temptation to move up to a shiny "Master Class" is surely tempting, ultimately they are in most cases simply more specialized, and not more powerful than Advanced classes, with a few natural exceptions like Falcoknight / Wyvern Lord. And as far as mastery bonuses go, you only get 5 free ability slots, of at least one is guaranteed to be dedicated to a weapon proficiency, so I find unless you're looking for a specific combo to utilize a weapon or skill for niche purposes, it's generally sounder just to stick with a weapon skill through the game and hope to reach the S and S+ ranks for juicy range or crit.

@@saphiriathebluedragonknight375 Hubert is far from the hardest character to make a dancer. 6 Base +35% Growth. At Lv10 he'll usually have 9~10 Charm; which is more than enough for him to win with the 5+ from training. And he'll usually be even higher than Lv10 by this point. I lowballed hard.

wow, this actually helps me a quite alot. considering that through out most of my Black Eagles playthrough i keep all my students as nobles/commoners like an idiot, and not up until the timeskip where it was a last minute class change, this makes me want to replay through the Black Eagles and do it right for class progression. i never did think about class changing up until the timeskip, so its definitly a must that i need to class change as soon as i can. @@kieranpearson5096 it has been recognised and known to be the best for quite a few months now, nothing beats its mobility or stats Falcon knight matches its mobility, but only gets 2 extra damage with lances than wyverns whereas wyverns get 3 more damage with everything else, and 8 more with axes In maddening wyverns don't auto stomp your enemies anymore but they're still the best at combat and movement. Being limited on the battalions they can use hurts them a little, but there are some really good flying battalions in the game I'm interested why you think wyverns aren't the best in the game, and which class(es) are better in your opinion

@@iAmMuu Wyvern lord and falcon knight are imo tied for the best class in the game. Wyvern lord has higher potential damage output (with some hit issues because axes) and falcon knight has higher speed, high res and no hit issues. Also, a female unit going through pegasus knight -> falcon knight or Pegasus knight -> wyvern rider -> falcon knight actually has a chance of getting into doubling or out of getting doubled range on maddening, especially with darting blow on player Phase. Aside from that, sniper and grappler have stronger offense than both falcon and wyvern because Hunter's volley and fierce iron fist are a thing. Although of course they're worse in every other way. And then there's war master. In itself already a great class in terms of stats and growths, 6 mov is as good as it gets for infantry and lastly, quick riposte is the best class mastery by far. Literally infinite speed on enemy phase. Then there is dark flier which imo deserves a mention as a flying magic class is just as insane as a flying bow class (Barbarossa). Being an advanced class (stats) is imo the only thing that prevents it from being on par of even better than wyvern lord/falcon knight. Just try out dark flier Constance and slap thyrsus or Caduceus staff on her. The class also single handedly made flayn viable (no need to turn her into a mediocre dancer anymore)

Nice vid, a tiny mistake was made though, Edelguard isnt an empress since an empress is usually the wife of an emperor and typically has much less political powerr then her husband, its basically a glorified main consort. Basically Edelguard calls herself an emperor because she was born into power,not married into it

No, there is a difference between empress regent and empress consort. An emperor/empress regent is the one who reigns and an emperor/empress consort is their spouse. It's the same with King/Queen.

(BL playthrough currently) Since enemies already only have about 20% chance to hit Ferdinand on average and he barely if ever gets hit. If in Lunatic the enemy's hit rates rise then I might change my mind.

Most physical characters are beast as wyvern lords. Highest weapon might+axeflair 5+bonus stats 4 might if you are screwed and if you farmed you can stack another axeflair on it for ridiculous amounts of damage while being a flyer on a game with 4 indoors maps+stride+available dancers. That's how you can 1T all ennemy commander maps by chapter 10.

In my GD route, I recruited Petra fairly late into a semi-joke team of all archers +Raphael. My final team was honestly bizarre and brutal. Petra ended up leveling Speed and Luck nearly every level, and crit nearly every encounter. To take this to new heights, I kinda wanted to min/max and promoted her to Assassin. Between her, Leonie (Bowknight), Ralph (Warmaster), and Lythitia (Gremory with A rank bow).... I cleared every map past Chpt 16 with only those four units, and soloed the last few just with Petra. I’m so exited for NG+ so that I can recruit her earlier and make her even more deadly!

Two classes that I didn't hear you bring up for Ferdinand are Wyvern Lord and Holy Knight. He has strengths in 2/3 of the required skills for each. Wyvern Lord would capitalize on the avoidance aspect of his personal skill thanks to Alert Stance and Avoid +10, making him a potentially really great dodge tank. Holy Knight isn't the best on him but not something to overlook either. He doesn't have a strength in Faith but he has blue arrows in the Choir activity, making his faith relatively easy to raise in spite of his faith being neutral. His magic stat won't be high enough to use Nosferatu in combat, but his ability to heal is pretty nice support at least. Even if the amount he can heal using the heal spell is limited, he'll be able to pick up the recover spell which will heal a lot of health no matter what your magic is. Heck, I ended Dimitri as a Holy Knight of all things and he turned out just fine. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be the same for Ferdie.

Something I've noticed is that, for the most part, the growths provided by intermediate classes have a very little impact on a character's endgame stats. The differences might only be 1-2 points difference MAYBE, because it's only for 10 levels (if you optimize) and several characters are actually unlikely to reach the base stats of their advance classes. This is because the biggest jump in bases happens between intermediate and advance (for example, the myrmidon > mercenary > swordmaster > mortal savant Str progression is 7 > 9 > 17 > 17). The most common stats that character won't reach the bases for are probably Str, Def and Res.

I made Bernie a fortress knight. She was really really good at it. She got bonus damage when she was hurt but couldn't be killed. Being an armored knight class boosts defense growths and Bernie already had good speed so She ended up being a fast, high defense, decent resistance tank with high strength and decent dexterity to boot.

in my black eagle play though. Caspar as a war master got so absurdly strong that in the final fight, that i was able to send him by himself and he defeated the entire right side of the map before my entire other teams. he had healing focus and killer gauntlets+ with a 96% crit rate while still out speeding everyone. He wasn't too over-levelled either. idk how that happened, but somehow he just became an immortal somewhere though the game (also meming him being grappler and punching dragons and deadly beasts unarmed is pretty funny to me)

I think it's worth mentioning that Edel also works well as a Great Knight. Emperor is a trap if you don't plan on investing extra movement into her, largely due to how much movement the BE squad usually brings to the table, and though I do think Wyvern Lord is a much better class, Great Knight is still a more then viable option if you don't want too many Wyvern Lords on your team if you've already got a couple others. Second thing worth mentioning is that your sample team is too axe heavy, imo. I mean it is certainly worth noting that they're all really good as axe based units, but on harder difficulties (when they come out) you'll really need a balance when it comes to larger enemies with weaknesses to certain weapon types, and just carrying more then one type on a unit isn't always going to be enough. Having the appropriate Faire on your unit to up the damage as well as the specific abilities to up avo/hit and the triangle counters will really make a huge difference. I know it's just a sample, simply thought it worth noting incase someone is skimming the comments for additional information. Also, Petra Sniper is a monstrosity, and she only gets better as a Bow Knight!

Not every character needs to be put in a master class, some advanced classes provide better growths. Also none of the master classes are the "canon" class to any character if you are going by the characters wearing post time skip outfits or when you encounter them as enemies. Lastly recommended abilities would be a nice addition to these videos.

Griffnix yes!! Make sure to invite him to tea a lot to increase that charm stat. But that dancer avoid skill when holding a sword combined with his personal skill is so good! I also trained my Ferny to be a bishop in a previous play through to get him the the Renewal ability, so on the off chance he does get hit, he just gains that health back, keeping that personal skill active. Sometimes I won’t even use his dance, I’ll just send him out to lure the enemy together towards him, knowing he’ll most likely avoid every attack

Martin Mitchell Bishop is nice. I'm taking him down the thief route to build up his upon his sword and get the stat growth in dex and speed and with the assassin class, gain more strength. So far, he's one of my top units. He unintentionally cleared out a map by himself and I didn't even need to heal him much.

19:40 I think Sylvain does have something he brings to the table: a Stride battalion from his paralogue, since one month into the timeskip (admittedly on GD) I’ve only seen one other stride battalion hired from the Battalion Guild. Plus, if you recruit him again in NG+, I assume that’d be two Stride battalions from his paralogue (one from old game, obviously), and so on. And of course he’s stupid easy to recruit for F!Byleth.

I turned my Caspar into a Wyvern Lord and he got like 40 speed at level 50. I just got real lucky with speed growths. He was a monster though, and I went the Falcon Knight Route with Petra that’s worth looking at. Sure her attack isn’t really that high through that route but it will max her speed, I had 51 speed with her at level 45 she was scary fast

While movement is nice, have you tried immovable walls + Warp? In my BL play through I had four mages who learned warp. While fortress knights aren’t exactly fantastic on many maps, if I warped Hilda or Dedue or even Ralph into a high concentration area with a short axe.... it was a MASSACRE. Of course it’s also nice to warp high movement allies halfway across the map (The Dorothea/Ingrid Paraloge can be done in two turns if you warp a mage that knows warp close to the bottom of the map and warp Ingrid twice), but I just cannot describe the joy I derive from just yeeting tanks into enemy groups.

For edelgard, I decided to go down the Cavalier to Great knight class after I nab death blow. Possibly a potential second best class as her base armour and axe levels are enough to increase naturally through battle while the minimum requirements for riding and lances can be met through tutoring. Basically the appeal is capitalising on her strengths while maintaining high enough mobility without spending on flying which, while the class is busted, loses out on gambit variety (since her unique batallion is nutty).

I might be only one weird enough to experiment with it, but I feel Dorothea gains a lot out of going Commoner > Myrmidon > Thief > Assassin > Dancer since it'll pad her average-ish spd growth plus a nice chunk more dex. The only downside is trying to make it to C rank before you can start using magic weapons so she actually kills thing.

Something I'm suprised you didn't mention specifically (especially considering how many times the class itself was listed in these routes) is Brigand/Mage class mastery skills Death/Fiendish Blow respectively. These skills are absolutely nuts and you can get them as early as lv.10. they're pretty much a player phase faire skill in itself. Even a character like Bernie could benefit from going into Brigand (unless it proves to be too problematic to acquire all the skill levels nesecary) to abuse "The Classic™" Brave Bow + Death Blow combo. Another thing I was thinking is trying to force Soldier at the beginning on units that want to be physical mounted units at the end, since Reposition + Canto sounds just absurd to me. That may be my inner FEH player talking.

Ferdinand makes an amazing dancer actually. Since dancers should be dancing every turn not casting physic he fits the bill quite well. His natural ability plus sword prowess and sword avoid will give him stupid high avoid. Also he excels in the riding skill so you could get him Move +1 to help guarantee he can dance whoever needs it and dodge any threat that may target him. Also as people have stated Wyvern Lord Edelgard is definitely her best class and there' no need to switch back to Emperor.

I made Ferdinand a Holy Knight just because I figured it kinda fit him. I was building Edelgard up as my great knight. I recruited Leonie onto the team and she quickly started sweeping as a paladin, and then accidentally recruited Annette when I was bored and randomly chose the recruit option thinking she’d say no. Petra is a Falcon Knight and Caspar is a wyvern lord. Hubert and Dorothea were leading the charge at the beginning, but they’re kinda falling behind lately. 10/10 great video.

Or... Make almost everyone fliers. Edelgard, Ferdinand and Caspar are all straight up better as Wyvern Lords because it allows them to be anywhere at any time. Not to mention the job has some sweet physical growths. If there's an archer or a forest to abuse, just dismount and your only weakness has been patched. Bow knights at least have a nice +2 bow range which gives them some utility fliers don't have, but great knights and war masters don't have anything to make up for the mobility difference.
