@@B_A-tr From what I’ve seen, Dedue is similar to Frederick from Awakening. Their relationships to their respective lieges are basically like family, but they still have the tendency to be almost fanatically loyal to them. In one of his supports, Dedue admits that he would even slaughter women and children if Dimitri ordered him to, which disproves the fact that he was his own person, since he was willing to override his own sense of morality if his liege ordered him to. For me at least it was a pleasant surprise to see him definitively end his service to Dimitri when he married Byleth, because it shows that he’s aware that entering a relationship with someone you love means that they become your partner for life, and should take priority before other people. I mean, think of a husband who is willing to abandon his wife because his boss ordered him to. You’d call him a bad husband, and rightfully so. Conversely, that’s what I didn’t like in the romantic routes of characters like Frederick. A relationship with him basically feels like you’re a person he likes to spend time with, as long as you don’t interfere with his duties towards Chrom. You put everything you have in a relationship with him, while he puts whatever’s left that he didn’t offer to Chrom in terms of loyalty. Sorry if I rambled, but it’s a theme I’m really interested about whenever I see a romantic dynamic play out.

I married Dorthea when i played blue lions, but the A ranking support made me cry. Dedue surprised me, thought he was just one of those bland stoic big dude characters, he's my favorite character in the game after Edelgard. I was so damn annoyed it took him so long to show up post timeskip. Dude has a beautiful soul. "until i can show you the feel of duscur in bloom i must live" emotionally wrecked me. I've only played as female Byleth, once and married Claude, but if I ever play Blue Lions again i will most certainly play as her and marry Dedue.

It is kind of good to see that Dedue was able to live his own life. Don't get me wrong I think Dedue's love for Dimitri is sweet and wholesome, but you gotta take care of yourself too. Even Dimitri tried to teach Dedue that when he told him to never sacrifice himself for his life ever again. They seemed too codependent. Not a bad thing during a war, since Dedue is strong af and can help protect Dimitri, but during times of peace Dedue should try to live for himself. Also, I did not expect Dedue's robotic personality to be so cute with Byleth.

I feel like all non-Dimitri S-tier supports are kind of awkward. They just don't have the same buildup x) I mean, the entire Blue Lion route is basically a Dimileth buildup. (Which is why it's so frustrating to play as a guy. I hate that they didn't let Dimitri be bi)
