It's criminal how few views this video has. This is a very great retrospective and I hope the algorithm is kind to it.

You know what it actually probably owes more to? Alone in the Dark 2: Jack is back. Movement speed, camera angles, general feel. Hope you'll cover that too at some point.

Loved this game when I was a kid, shame I was probably too young and impatient to really get far, this has inspired me to hunt down a copy and give it another go, thanks for the great video 😊

I loved this retrospect, @ItsMatticusFinch. Another game from this exact era was, In Cold Blood. An under-rated gem. Beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds with tank controls. But it was an amazing action-adventure/ story created by Revolution Software. I’d love for you to review it like you’ve done here for Fear Effect ❤

I read somewhere that the remake has been silently cancelled. Fear Effect 1 & 2 were awesome games for the time clunky as hell but that was the style at the time.

That's probably for the best from what we saw. Yes! Clunky That's the perfect way to phrase it. Back in the day those clunky tank controls just became second nature to me.

You wish more people remembered this? okay... "Glaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssss" I'm late to the party, mate but keep it up. Your vids are good. "I'd prefer if you call me by my true name... yim... lau... wong." Clunky game, excellent story, art and even the voice acting is fairly good.

That initial playthrough really does give you a swift kick to the teeth doesn't it? Really sad we never got more past Retro Helix (not counting Sedna or this remake of course). Was sad to learn a third game was going to come out on the PS2 but was cancelled. Will lightly cover that when I inevitably cover FE2.
