Aliens: The Computer Game (Activision) - Play the disk version, it loads much faster. :) To be honest, I never found this one all that hard. In fact, with a little luck, I could finish it without losing a single life. Not every time, but more than a few times. Some tips; Dropship - Always aim for the SECOND ring. In other words, at any given moment, there is a ring ahead of you, a second ring behind it, more rings beyond that, etc. It's the ring BEHIND the nearest one that you should be aiming for. If you only aim for the nearest one, it's too easy to stray too far off the path. Aiming for the second one will keep you on the path much better, and the nearest ring will just take care of itself. Playing a lot of Master of the Lamps previously really helps with this. APC Rescue - Approximately the top 2/3 of the map are normal pathways, while the bottom 1/3 is melted, alien hive. The APC is located on the right side of the map, right at the bottom edge of the normal section. So if you're in the normal section, you should be going down and right, and if you're in the hive section, you should be going up and right. Since aliens can come through the walls in the hive section, your inactive men are slightly safer in the normal sections, preferably a screen with only two paths, such as right and left to limit where the aliens can come from if they attack. When they do, don't try to line up your shots, hold the fire button and strafe side to side. The best strategy is to make a map of this level, then when you start, try to figure out where your men are as quickly as possible. Look for unique areas, like four-way intersections, two straight parts in a row, etc. If you can get two marines on the same screen, they'll never be attacked and you can worry about the other two. Then you can buddy-walk them to the APC. Control Room - The two most important things to know are that the aliens can NOT hurt you, and that the more of them you kill, the more they speed up. Seeing the strategy here? Don't kill them unless you absolutely have to! Just touch them and they'll back up, although each time they get a little closer. Even if it's a pair of aliens and the first one has already gotten slightly past you, if you touch the second one before the first is off the screen, they should both back up. With luck, it's possible to last long enough that you don't lose a single life. However, using this strategy, you should be able to save a few lives. Duct Maze - OK, this one is a pain in the ass. It really helps to have a map. Take screenshots and paste them together. This is easy in an emulator, but it could also be done back then, using a utility cartridge with a screenshot function. Beyond finding your way through the maze, this involves a bit of luck and a willingness to run away from the aliens, rather than sacrificing your men to get away from them. Newt Rescue - Another maze, and again, a map REALLY helps. Generally, you want to go down and to the left, although Newt is in a little closed loop, where you have to go to the bottom of the level, and then up into the loop that Newt is on. To get past the queen on the way out, you threaten her eggs on the right side (I forget if you actually have to shoot them, or if just moving close to them is enough), and then quickly run past her on the left. Alien Queen - Not very difficult. Bash her with the arms of the powerloader until her health bar is depleted, then grab her to drop her in the airlock. To lure her in, retract the arm closest to her and give her an opening, then grab her when she comes close.

Tip for Aliens The Computer Game. On the level that you could not beat, instead of killing the aliens right away, repel them back with the flamethrower. Wait as long as you can before youre forced to kill them. That will delay the fast movers from showing up and give the marines more time to cut through the door.

No worries, I recently had a spat with two (what I can only describe as) 'old farts' from up North on Facebook, because I used an incorrect word, which is misappropriation of a word and not a spelling mistake. Strangely enough, in my circle of friends and frequented FB groups: As long as they can understand what someone has typed, nobody really cares.

Love this video , the european 87 game was remade as lv426 for pc as free download , i found with the US one i could only complete dropship level by entering some sort of zen state

Oh really??? I'll have to check that out (I wish I knew before making the video!). It's like you have to BECOME the dropship, be one with it. Glad you liked the video!

@@ItsMatticusFinch to be fair lv 426 is quite obscure i think , there is also a online version of the leading edge aliens board game that is very faithful, the new aliens board game is also very good, me and my friend playing it every week

@@marcraygun6290 I just checked out LV 426, it looks like a genuinely great little remake. It even has a mini map on screen, a real quality of life improvement!

@@ItsMatticusFinch glad you dound it yup it is respectful remake that only improves , cant wait for your further aliens videos, replaying dark descent right now which is superb

@@marcraygun6290 Thanks mate :) The next one should be out hopefully in the next couple of months (there's like four other videos I want to make too!). Aaagh I'm desperate to play Dark Descent, I'm hoping I'll have time to play it after I've finished Final Fantay 7: Rebirth.
