The front tire is reversible. As the tire wears as you pointed out, you simply turn the tire around and even out the wear pattern.

I only use Motoz now. DV Front and GPS or Rallz on the back depending on use. I’ve used Anakkee’s, Shinko’s, TKC80’s, AX41’s, Trailmax, and got tired of looking for the stunning tire. Motoz make great lasting tires considering the DV and Adventure are both 70+ off road tyres. The Trailmax is dodgy in wet weather here in NZ. We have a lot of rain and very twisty roads. Motoz does everything very well on the BMW. KTM’s like them too. I tend to keep the GPS on the back unless I’m going somewhere tough. The GPS is very good on the road, lasts forever, and when aired down to 20psi off road, they hook up very well and the stiff carcass means no pinching.

What are the gps & adv tyres like in the rain on tarmac please?
@digbywilkinson5565
@digbywilkinson5565 Ай бұрын
Hi. They are fine. The GPS has silicon content unlike the standard tractionator which I think is pure rubber. So, no worries in the rain. The DV is likewise fine in the rain too. In saying that, wet tar snakes are a little unfriendly, though very few tires like those at the best of times. I'm in New Zealand and our roads are twisty and made of chipseal and I’ve never had a problem. Its always good to experiment with air pressure on different bikes because every tire has a sweet spot depending on bike geometry, weight and riding style. Motoz make good tires, but testing and experimenting for your requirements is always worth the effort. Worth remembering too, Motoz tire profiles are compromise in profile, so they are flatter across the tread rather than round, which makes the steering a ‘little” slower, but good off-road. Ride safe.

Isn't 20psi too low? I mean didn't you damage the rim ?
@digbywilkinson5565
@digbywilkinson5565 Ай бұрын
@@pawesuchanek9369generally no. I should clarify I use 25 on the front DV and down to 20 on the rear. However, if it’s very rocky for a long period then I go 25-28 in the rear where most of the damage is likely. The MotoZ adventure rear tires are all incredibly strong. I cut my last Tractionator Adventure in half to see what it was like as it was an early version with some cracking. I need not have worried, the carcass is incredibly rugged. They are impressive adventure tires. The Dual Venture has more playable sidewalls than previous versions which gives it better feedback on the road (still tough though). Hope that helps.

@@digbywilkinson5565 excellent summary from someone who goes the extra miles to investigate the tyre after it past its use by date; thank you very much for taking the time to make a completely unbiased and coherent reply; can i ask, what do you see as the major difference between the GPS and the Rallz? cheers from across the ditch.

I did about 5000 miles on my DV front and Tractionator Rear and probably could have done 2k more on the front. The front gets better on the street the more it gets worn down. My mileage was 40/60 Dirt/Street.

I don't have a bike but the guys that had a GS said the Dunlop tires lasted over 12k every time they ran them. (one said he got 20k another 16k but..) I also saw a video about Motoz tires and they said you can turn the tire around so you get more even wear and they last longer. Like I said I don't have a bike (I want one) so I don't know how they handle.

From the MotOz page: Tractionator Adventure: 70% Off-Road - 30% Road From the Dunlop Page: 60/40 Adventure tire (Road / Off - Road) - The 80/20 from MotOz is called Rallz and the 50/50 from Dunlop is called Trailmax Raid. However, good mileage for sure, definitely a great choice, but there is also money that should be considered. I prefer the Heidenau K60 Ranger, they are also 70/30 but perform extremely well in the wet and track better off road. Downside, the rear only lasts 3.5-4.5k but is also a lot cheaper.

So did the Raid replace the Mission’s? Can’t seem to get any confirmation.
@ogoshikimura5621
@ogoshikimura5621 7 ай бұрын
@@MotoBeemer no, it’s a additional tire. Dunlop EU developed it, the Mission is developed by Dunlop USA. They selling them here now, but you won’t get great mileage out of them. In EU they just don’t have those so many rubber eating concrete roads anymore. The Raid is also a bit more performance oriented, they say 40/60 (on-off). But again, are they worth the money in GS sizes?

I use these on my F800, with a tube, and I just recently noticed that MotoZ website added this: NOTE: Tube Tyre Tractionator Adventure are specifically designed for single seat enduro class bikes (typically single cylinder, single seat bikes), where riders want to cover long distance/adventure (don’t use light weight Tube Type on large multi cylinder adventure class bikes). Guess I have to swap to something else.

I got almost 3 times the mileage out of my Trailmax. I pulled them off at 14,000 and some change. I rode out and did the MABDR with 9000 miles on them in April and had zero traction issues. I ride a lot of gravel and rock roads, blacktops and highways. I guess the only thing I’ve had any trouble with was slick clay. But I’m not sure anything does well in that especially a 530 lb bike. My WR250r even can be a handful in that at times. Ride safe!

i try and find tyres that you don't get flats and punchers. motoz tyres are good at not getting flats. i think you should give the motoz GPS a go on the back especially if you are doing lots of road riding. but 5000 Miles no flats is great. the front is still good for 3000miles more. from a price point they are great also

@markhills3922 No, but as a former GS owner of 7 years, and now someone who's owned and ridden 21 inch tire bikes, for the last 3 years I can see why my GS front always felt a bit less then awesome offroad. Some of that is skill, as Im much more confident offroad then I used to be. That and the front is known to taco. They are giant bikes even if they hide weight well.
