I run these tires on my 17 Honda AT. Right out of the gate I did the same thing. Ran to my local OHV park and tested them. Hauled 85 mph the entire way and ripped up the hills all over the park like I was on my XR400. I also run carve mountain twisties like I am on my old supermoto bike. I have absolutely no complaints after about 6k of all types of riding. I do agree the soft stuff is it's nemesis but what do you expect from a street tire? For the average ADV rider it's a great tire. Great on the roads and great down the dirt road to camp. I'm sold on them for sure.

I've also AT1100 in need of new tyres! I like the reviews on the missions! But there heavy! I like the thought of either avon Trec or track or the tck70 rocks paired with ax41 front! I mostly ride road, but need a good tyre for a heavy bike with a heavy rider who has no skills off road!!

This is the review we need for tyres like this! I was contemplating putting 40/60s or 50/50s on my Himalayan but I think this sells the Trailmax Missions for me. I am unfortunately in a country where we don't really get to ride off road, so realistically this is probably spot on for me.

I recently bought a V-Strom 650 for a tourer. It needed tires immediately, and I'm hoping to eventually try some bdr type stuff. So far, I've got about 5,000 street miles on these, and they barely look worn in at all. Not too much power on the V-Strom, so they may last me a couple summers. I was definitely excited to see you put them on two of the best middleweights available right now. Thanks so much.

I've been looking for a tire to replace the TKC80 that came on my 890R. Turns out, I'm spending a lot more time on the road than I thought I would. Being in San Diego, there's gates on every fire road in the county it seems. And pretty much every place you could ride off road is closed now. Except for the 2 OHV areas out east. These tires might be a good choice. I like the TKC, but it's got a pretty short lifespan.
@EverySingleSunday

I’ve ridden these at McCain and Corral Canyon. They work great on road and are just fine for SoCal dirt in most places I’d take these over the 80s for what I ride most days. If I go for real off-road I’ll take a full knobby and skip the 80s

Great video review @everysinglesunday. I had these on my Desert Sled and they were really fun, and very long lasting - some GS riders are reporting up to 8k miles on rears. The one issue I found with them is they are bias-ply construction, making them heavy and stiff AF. Due to the geometry / weight of the Sled it threw off the high speed stability, and I would get sketchy head shake on the hwy, esp. under heavy acceleration or heavy turbulence from vehicles / cross-winds. I didn’t have that issue w/ the stock Pirelli STRs. The Sled does not have a steering stabilizer, so I ended up tuning out the head shake by softening up the front suspension and stiffening the rear suspension to get more load up front. Probably solved 80-90% of the shake problem. The other thing I noticed is the handling felt different. Not necessarily a problem, but took some time to get used to and it could handle all sorts of road conditions w/o issues. Again, I think it is because they’re heavier/stiffer being bias-ply, and the Sled has wide tires, 120 up front and 170 in the rear. Otherwise a great product from Dunlop, great for adv 50/50 riding.

The Missions last a long time, but not great in deep sand/ deep mud. Run them on my DL1000XAL8. 8000 miles, rear looks half gone, front about 2/3's gone and starting to scallop. I'm expecting 10,000 miles on front, 12,000 miles rear. Haven't been riding, separated a should and hurt my rotor cuff, then broke a finger left hand, then sprained the right wrist and left knee, and it's just taking a lot of time to heal. Next year. Next set will be the Raids. Hoping they last a long time. Kind of hope you guys give them a try before I buy them 🙂

Have a set of these I keep around for the T7. Fantastic multipurpose tire provided you keep your brain engaged around soft muck. Better than I was expecting. Only sad part is, confirmed by Dunlop Engineering, the 150/70-18 has the center strip for lug reinforcement on "big power" bikes that typically use that size. Funny since the 17" on the GS1250 doesn't 🤣 Otherwise the Missions I give people as the go-to dualsport tire these days unless they plan on getting really into dirt. Sucky part is once you wear them down that strip is no fun. Tire cutter seems to be the go-to on ADVRider. Otherwise I run around on a Motoz DV front and ADV rear. Might try the smaller width Tube DV next time. The TL still gets into highspeed wobbles on the T7 (85+). Better than the Rallz though.

@@markjacobs3956 They definitely are hard enough to give you extended mileage I had a set on my 1190 thought they’d work on my 890 and I ride some really gnarly stuff and they are just total slicks and I’ve been racing Enduro’s for 40 years with a few hair scrambles mixed in

@@ApexMolester I ride mostly rock, talus, baby heads, mild sand and a little mud. Just fine for 99% of surfaces for 99% of riders. They're not for you level A pros for sure. I've only been riding trials and srams since 1975, started on a TY then Ossa's and old RM250 in vintage races now. I've got much to learn from guys like you...

Basically what I got out of this video was that the Missions work ok on dirt. What was not explained in the video was why I would want to replace the knobbies on my adventure bike with missions in the first place. According to the video, there was nothing that missions did better than your 606’s, so why bother?

Well, most guys running a knobby don’t go for a 50/50 tire. A 606 rear will last me maybe 1000 miles vs these will last 8000 or so They are also hands down better on asphalt but I didn’t mention that because there’s a million reviews of 50/50 tires in the road This was just a video showing that they can work off-road

@@EverySingleSunday - thanks for the video - I really enjoyed it. but the reason for the question was because in my experience, almost all 50/50 videos focus on their off-road performance, and hardly mention asphalt performance. So the what I want from a 50/50 tire video is to know how much better they work on asphalt + how they work on dirt, so I can gauge if it is worth giving up a little on dirt to gain what the tire has to offer on asphalt. So maybe I am an unusual video consumer, but for me the dirt story is only half the story, and gives me no reason to switch to missions on my adventure bike. But thanks to your reply, 8000 miles vs 1000 is one good reason. And "hands down better on asphalt" is less compelling because of it's vagueness, but still another reason. Thanks for the reply, and I really enjoyed the video, but not just for the tire part, but also because I like how it showed what an adventure bike can do in the dirt. Cheers

@@EverySingleSunday I have 9k mikes on a set and I’m confident I’ll get 12k before I change them out for a new set of the same tires. Did the Utah, AZ and NM BDR and a small part of the colorado BDR on a T7. It’s really strange to ride for months and thousands of miles on the same tires. You become very attuned to their strengths and weaknesses. They are sketch in deep soft sand and dangerous in mud. Everything else, they can handle.

I just installed a set on my DR650. Can't wait to try it in the dirt. Did about 50 miles on some curvy roads today and they hold well. They do tend to follow seams, but no biggie. I made my rims tubeless by caulking the spokes with 3M 5200 caulk, drilling the valve stem hole to 11.3mm, and installing a right angle tubeless valve stem. So far so good.

Very cool you were able to convert them. They aren’t the best in dirt but do work. Be safe and have fun
