This is good information with regard to trigger press. I thought I’d seen all of Earnest’s videos over time but evidently not and this one is key to managing the DA trigger.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I'll try them on the range next time. You have a very good way of teaching so I could learn a lot in just few minutes.

I thank you for these videos. What you describe here really works. My Beretta has been upgraded with all the mods you offer and has a great DA/SA trigger. Using the techniques you have shown, I fear not the DA trigger and actually love taking that first shot and seeing it go in the Bullseye or close to. I can pull that trigger and not move my sight picture. It is really a great feeling. Making the transition from the smooth 8# DA trigger to the 3# SA trigger is also no issue. My upgraded Beretta 92 has your Optic slide on it with a Holoson 507c optic. I just love watching the bullet holes pile up on top of each other from 30 yards. I have to use the expression - tack driver. A little of a year ago, this was not my story but it is now. What a machine! My complements on what you have done to Berettas. Every dime I have spent on my 92 at Landon Tactical has been well spent. It looks different and it shoots incredibly well. Starting to work on some of the drills. Ammo prices are a bit of a throttle unfortunately. I will add one of the other LTT guns in the future when I can get ammo to shoot it. I Just got back form the range shooting it today so I just had to comment.

These videos are great Ernest! Makes me realize how little I knew about how to properly shoot my Berettas.(FS & Compact L) The next move will be to order a couple of "trigger jobs in a bag" Can't wait to get the range and put this info into motion. 👍

Thanks for putting these out! I've chosen to dedicate my training for a while to da/sa pistol and these vids and your article on pistol training's site were super helpful. Really appreciate you taking time to do these.

You could practice this with some snap caps. That will give you an opportunity for a lot of practice. Thanks.

The military gave me 1911 .45 they took it back when I left. I never learned to pull the track gger in a double action I just cocked the hammer. I liked what you said and I have a new coming a Bersa Trp9c with a da\sa trigger. I am going to learn how to with my new pistol using your tips. Thank you.

Good video series. I started with double action revolver while in the State Patrol so it was a little easier for me to adjust to the double/single action of the Beretta. Have now been using them for 24 years and love them...planning to try out the new 92 variations when they come out on the shelves. I've always wanted that Brigadier but heard that they're already sold out as Beretta is only running 2000 of them.

You should look into one of the Wilson Combat 92G Brigadier Tactical models. They are really nice, I have two of them now.
@MegaScorpio4310 жыл бұрын
I will be checking them out but I thought that the new 92G-SD would have the same upgrades. Also, I'm a lefty and the Wilson combat one keeps the decocker lever on the opposite side that I usually use it on. Any thoughts?
@LangdonTactical10 жыл бұрын
Steve austin The GSD is a cool gun, but does not have all the upgrades that the WC gun has. The WC gun does keep the right side decoker that you would use as a lefty, so that should not be a problem.
@MegaScorpio4310 жыл бұрын
Ernest Langdon Oh it does...then that's definitely a go for me. All the ones I've seen had that decocker on the left side & nothing on the right but I should have known that they could design it either way. Thanks Ernest I will have one of those this year.
@LangdonTactical10 жыл бұрын
Steve austin Yeah, WC does a conversion on some guns to G models as well as making a low profile F model lever. Those levers do not have a right side lever. But the 92G Brigadier Tactical guns come directly from Beretta and have the factory G model lever with the right side ambi controls.

Ernest, I have an odd question. In your other video, you talked about maybe using more finger on the trigger to help with that first double action pull. What about the consecutive pulls that are in single action? Do you stay put with your trigger finger closer to that knuckle or do you now kind of transition to a more middle of that first pad position? I'm guessing you stay put, but I want to be sure. Thank you kindly.

Joe Traina I'm a far cry from Mr Langdon but I've fired a bit more than my fair share of DA/SA. Go back to video two and pay attention to his grip, it doesn't change. I've heard a bazillion folk talk about grip transition (which moving the finger requires) between the DA and the SA triggers, but I've never saw anyone that was hitting targets quickly do it. I have however watched plenty of people hitting targets slowly and just as many people missing targets quickly do it.

Ernest , Thanks for the series on the DA pull, its the subtle things you point out that really make the DA guns sing. I have gone back to a 92 series Beretta after some 6 years of shooting a stock Glock 17 and am loving it. Just wondering what holster you are using for your M9A1? Cheers and take care.

I'm curios as to why everyone is concerned about "the DA pull" and no one advocates cocking the hammer on the SA/SA pistol. Is that inherently a bad to do?

The thought process is that if u are drawing u will be on DA for the safety of Da. My SA on my compact m9a1 is like 3lbs I don't think I would veer carry it on SA. DA is long on it but it's only 6lbs
