As of the date of this comment (04/30/22) The USMC has stood down all of its’ armor units ie M1 series of tanks. Unlike The Army, The Marines often use their tanks in platoon sized (04 units) to provide immediate fire 🔥 support to Marines - The leadership of The USMC has determined that this role can better be fulfilled by other systems ie shipboard weapons, shoulder fired weapons, and MANPADS , to counter low level threats.

Tanks make sense for armies but for Marines that are operating from Naval ships and doing Island hopping they are not as useful. Having marines engage targets by providing information to ships that can then send in missiles could be far more valuable than using a tank to engage those targets. Missiles also can be directed to the target making incoming changes in their targets movement.

Tanks are not necessary for the Marines corps mission. They are the first to go in, or the tip of the spear, followed by the might of the rest of the US military. They cut a pathway, secure the port, airfield, or land for the base of Operation and supply lines. Tanks are suitable for the army, after a base has been established by the Marines, or for supporting their advances, however their mission is not to hold a base of operations, but to create one. Equipment needing heavy maintenance or a base to field it becomes a hindrance to them, and slows their advance. Tanks have their place in wars and in certain branches of the army but are not a useful enough tool for the Marines corps mission. They actually slow them down.

They can be retro fitted onto Arleigh Burke destroyers, but will be standard equipment on the upcoming DDG(X) class and Constellation class frigates. Used in conjunction with 150kw lasers with 360 degree targeting, a swarm of 200-300 drones won’t get within a mile of a U.S. Navy warship. Last year the US Navy awarded a $33 million contract to produce more coyote drones. The U.S. Navy is also the only Navy in the world that is actively preparing to both use and defend against drone swarms, so I’m confident they have a handle on it.

Do you really think it’s impossible to hit a big landing ship at sea? If so please tell me why Russia just put out the very first hypersonic missile equipped ship in the world the Admiral Gorchkov. (That is like the first carrier putting to sea after WW1 a game changer) It could sink a US carrier from 1500 km away….that’s half the Atlantic Ocean away. Nothing the CBG could do to stop the attack. So a landing craft ship can easily be sunk by airborne or land based assets. Now as to your point on movement you don’t seem to understand how these things work. Let’s say initial coordinates provided by satellite, missile fired, closer in it acquires the target itself and homes in on it. So my comment is valid. Note: The Russians followed the missile path and are now way ahead of the US in missile tech. The US even stole an S300 from Libya to try and understand how to catch up. Unless the US really has a wonder weapon hidden away somewhere it’s navy is severely compromised. Note: A US Admiral even admitted they have no defence against hypersonics.

The choice is in our hands. All we need is to continue in the same direction that nature is already leading us: toward connection. If we make an effort to care for one another, even though initially we don’t, then we are moving in the right direction. If we try to resolve conflicts not with guns or even legal battles, but by strengthening the care and friendship between us, then we are saving lives and sparing torments from countless people. In conclusion, let us try to rise above the hatred and see the human on the other side, who suffers too. Let us think that this war was given to us so we would think about each other more than we have so far. After all, were it not for this war, we would not notice one another. Now that it is here, we are no longer indifferent. Although our feelings our currently negative, now that we are aware of them, we can work on them together and turn them around. These are the wars of the Messiah who moshech [Hebrew: pulls] us out of the ego, and into mutual love.
