This was done exactly to me as well because other kids threw the blame at me for whatever reason and I was the new kid. Unfortunately I had a PTSD when I was much younger when I got locked in a bathroom, so this triggered it. I was about Andy's age when this happened to me being locked in a classroom. And I was also mishandled a bit more harsh than on this scene. Most likely it's change nowadays as today's standards would consider that abuse.

Theres just something so scary about the killer killing someone in a space where you think youd be safe. Like in a classroom. You would think as a child think youd be safe from all murder. For one, school takes place during the day. Daytime always brings comfort to people. Secondly, theres always alot of people around you. So unless there was a mass shooting or murder spree, it wouldn't be illogical to feel you are safe at a school. With that being said, thats what makes this kill so much more uncomfortable and scarier to me.

Also when miss kettlewell’s in the closet we all know she’s gonna die so you’re just waiting for it to happen with suspense. And the kill with each strike off the yardstick pulling the camera out more and more and still being able to see it moving in the furthest shot? The suspense and cinematography in this movie is great.
