Lucas you are WRONG about this one. The thing you keep calling a divisional skill gap isn't because of lighter divisions being more skillful. Its because the lighter divisions have more competition, so the guys at the top have to beat more competitively good people to get there. For example, lightweight has twice as many competitors as heavyweight, hence the skill gap. But for something like featherweight and lightweight, the amount of competition in lightweight is greater than at featherweight. So lightweights are probably more skilled than featherweights. That's also why nobody has had more than 3 title defenses at lightweight so far, its just that insanely competitive.

Volk vs Islam 2 was a short notice fight with a out of shape volk (still would have probably lost) 3. Izzy vs Jan was at 205. 20+ pounds more than 185. At the beginning of the video he said 10lbs isn’t enough of a difference to where the size outweighs the skill. When I comes to fighters going from 185 to 205 or 205 going to 265+ size makes a huge difference compared to 145 to 155.

Eventhough Lopes had moments in that fight. Movsar arguably robbed Allen who's a top 5 fighter. On the other hand Lopez just 30-26 ed Ortega who was a title contender. He fights 3 times in a year way more entertaining than crouch sniffer Evloev too. No one cares about that boring neck breathing specialist. Fighters like him should be cut from UFC just like Mokhaev

I think you have to add one thing. Two fighters from adjacent division should be similar in frame and size. Eg: Gaethie and Holloway In the case of Topuria and Herbert. It was like a Welterweight vs featherweight. If someone like Whittaker face Walker, there is a huge chance for Walker knocking out Whittaker because of the size discrepancy, eventhough Whittaker is superior in terms of skill Buckley was more superior at Welterweight than Middleweight because of this reason. He was smaller at MW.
