The new Tourism Secretary is right when she emphasized that food will be the new feature of our country's tourism. We need more of this kind of videos. Mindanao cuisine is a mystery that needs more revelations.

It’s not all bombs and firearms, Mindanao really has a lot to offer. The overly grotesque media representation of it really hindered the promotion of its cultures and traditions that can be traced back all the way back to premodern times. Shukran, featr, for this and the previous content on Mindanaoan cuisine! It speaks volume of how not just good you are in content creation but also how beautifully inclusive you are as human beings.

"Halal" is an Arabic word that translates to "permissible" in Islam. In terms of food, it means that it is permissible to be consumed by the Muslims (as well as the general public). The consensus is that food/drinks must be free of pork (and/or pork derivatives), alcohol/intoxicants, poisons, harmful ingredients, or unhygienic elements. Any meat must be slaughtered in accordance with the methods prescribed under Islamic law known as Zabihah (most humane and purest way to slaughter an animal for consumption).

I tried a snack that is exactly like balolon in Indonesia. I didn't know we have that also in the Philippines. That's why we need videos like this, to spread information about our country's culture.

There really are alot of similarities when it comes to traditions, mannerisms and food that the Philippines and Indonesia have in common yet alot of people don't know about. I mean lumpia and hopia are also a thing over there as well. They even got their own version of budol fight and lechon (babi guling). It's crazy how much similarities there is.

I was born in Zamboanga but live in the states most of my life. This brought back some memories. There are so many more merienda items that could’ve been featured. Research lokot lokot. One of my faves!!

FEATR, you've grown and reached a certain level, yours is now a global channel. I am sure you would be able to provide subtitles. If you do, you are certain to grow even further.

Just came from my Zamboanga trip and used Erwan's vlog as guide... And I loved the food we got to devour in Zamboanga! I tried Daral, very similar to Balolon, and the pastil at Dennis Coffee House in Zamboanga, loved it! Where can we get Zamboangueno food in Manila? :)

I don't think the host is supposed to ask the Pastil maker on how will she introduce Tausog cuisine/dishes to Manileños. The product is already offered in Sampaloc, it's now up to the Manileños to break the cultural barrier and try Minadanaoan food. 🙄 We Minadanaoans have a more diversified palette than Luzon and Visayaz. Considering that Mindanao is a melting pot of cultures and religions. We cherish our roots. Whether as Kristiyanong Dagsa from Luzon&Visayaz, Lumadnong Katutbo or Muslims. Consider this, the Christian migrants have their own cuisine, so as the Lumads and the Bangsamoro people. In our household alone, my roots are from Visayaz(Ilonggo, Boholano & Cebuano) and from the Muslim tribe of Meranaw. And my partner also has roots from Bohol, Cebu and Lumad tribe of Bagobo Djangan. Our home is a melting pot of cultures and of course, food. What I like about this channel is the consistency of Erwan and his team to share Minadanaoan food, hence sharing our culture. Your efforts are much appreciated. Daghang Salamat/Shukran!

@@xxxxxxxxxx1600 That is sad, as their follower here on YT, we only pointed out a logical criticism. Its not we want to take over the channel. Napaka minor ng pinopoint-out ko dito pero may impact sa akin bilang Mindanaoan. Yun lang naman. Hehe, I'm happy as their viewer and follower
