See I have it the other way - quicklime is like a puff of smoke, where carcass is like napalm. Especially good at frying troop blobs, scaring off elephants, and turning wall breach choke points into barbecue pits. I love it. Then again I try to run "gun heavy" with two units of heavy cannon and two units of howitzers per army. I go light on cav and skirmish, and always try to make sure I still have some pikes around to keep cav off the arty. Can we all just step back and appreciate that Frederick the Great not only stood his ground against four of the five major powers of Europe at the time, all but alone. Not only that, he faced for the five major powers of Europe and came out the other side with more territory after the fact... After saying that imagine if Fredrick had been born a few decades later. Image if Napoleon's Prussian enemy was Fredrick himself. That would've been the equivalent of Patton vs Rommell, or Sun Tzu vs Hannibal. I'm unsure who would've won, but that battle would never be forgotten.
@Brambora1217 жыл бұрын
It would be a great battle indeed! Even Napoleon himself admired Frederick the Great very much. When he conquered Berlin, he visited his grave and said to his crew: “Hats off, gentlemen! If he were alive, we would not be here.” And I hate to say that, since Frederick the Great must be my most favourite figure in history… Napoleon would probably won. It would heavily depend on the battlefield, the conditions and so on, it would be a close battle, but Frederick the Great was known to be heavily impatient - that's why he lost battle of Kolin and Kunersdorf after all.

France couldn't win the Seven Years War in America. To give you the scale there was only around 80 000 french in Norther America compared to 2 millions british at the beginning of the conflict, it was just a matter of time before they took the land. France could have prevented this if they actually populated their colonies during the reign of Louis XIV but he preferred to spend money to go at wars ( successfully though) against his neighbors in Europe and build the Versailles Palace Louis XV is often blamed for being the one who launched the decline of France but the reality is that the heritage he had to manage was pretty heavy.

Could you talk about the Afghan war? From Being a part of Peria, then resisting the British Empire and aswell the Soviets. Then the fall of the regime, rise of the Talibans, and the rise of a "democratic" (rigged polls) regime again. Usa's attack on Afghanistan, why Bush attacked the country. The country has a very rich history and it's very interesting, if you could take your time to make the video. I'll glady become a patreon. Also point out that the Afghanistan has a lot of mountains which is strategic in a warfare.

@vulpes70793 жыл бұрын
@@irongeneral7861 why do you guys call it a "revolution"?
@irongeneral78613 жыл бұрын
@@vulpes7079 Because I guess the idea of revolting against the rule of a colonial, monarchical power was "revolutionary" at the time (which of course it wasn't). This was also because the AWI occurred right at the end of the age of enlightenment, so the enlightenment thinkers that comprised a few of our founding fathers could also be associated with revolutionary concepts like Thomas Paine's "The Rights of Man" which served also as a justification for the more appropriately named French Revolution. TL;DR: Because we want to call it that.

@simonbolduc15806 жыл бұрын
You think so ? The only thing that remains to the French-Canadian culture is their language ( french ). So you can understand that I love to make fun of french-canadian trying to "defend" a culture that doesn't exist anymore.

In the US we're taught this war was significant(to Americans) because it was the first major conflict that essentially started with Americans. Yay?
