Hi Chrissy! 🤠 Thanks so much, I wish I'd hung these sheer curtains long ago. They disperse the light so that I'm not moving plants around so much. I feel like I'm on vacation! 🤣 Have a blessed day, sweet friend! 😇

Oh, Ms. Amy! You’ve created a mini paradise with all your blooms! You’re my Tolumnia enabler- I’ve ordered two after seeing how gorgeous yours are! I’m using the Jack’s as well- keep us posted if you make any changes to your routine. 💕🌸

Hi Sara! 😊 So good to hear from you! Which Tolumnias did you order? I'm thinking about ordering 5 more...lol!🤣 I'm ordering the hybrids tho...I've heard that the species ones are fussy. Have a great day and I'll keep you posted with updates. 😇

So glad to hear you are using orchid moss as your medium. I do too and get lots of flack about it. My moss is so airy and light-never soggy so I don’t know why members of the AOS get so irate.

Very nice Amy and I love those sheers! They warm the room up. My other colored Thanksgiving cacti are blooming now, finally. They are rather late as well. Always keeping us guessing. 😇

Hi Sharon! 🌵💜 I'm so glad I got these sheets up...I've been meaning to do this for quite a while. I'm so glad your cacti are blooming! I found out that in Brazil, their native area, they are known as May cactus because that's when they bloom there. 🌺😇

Sorry I’m late to watch… loved your tour and that Catt! One question, since you water your orchids in sphagnum slowly with just a little water in order not to make the moss soggy, how do you flush your plant? And how often?
@OrchidWhisperer
@OrchidWhisperer Жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't flush the orchids in moss. I've never had a problem with salt buildup with moss. But I keep the fertilizer amount low...between 150-250 ppm and I water with plain water once a month. That's enough to flush the salts evidently.

Hi Amy. Your Phalaenopsis are so beautiful, and so is your Cattleya. I was interested in what you said about stopping the use of seaweed, kelp. I quit using it several months ago because I was experiencing some issues with my orchids. Now I’m only using msu fertilizer and calmag. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Blessings and Shalom.🥰❤️🦋

Hi Shirley! I'm contemplating what I'm going to do with the seaweed. I'm going to wait and see if I have issues with my other Phals. Thanks for letting me know, it's very helpful to hear about your experience too! Have a blessed day, sweet friend! 😊💞🌷

@@Joe-nj3bb yes, they are...and I'm considering this may be a genetic mutation. It happens most commonly in my Phals with red blooms. It might not be the seaweed. Thank you for sharing!
@OrchidWhisperer

@@Joe-nj3bb yes, my thoughts exactly! When she bought it, it had 2 spikes covered with blooms. It looked so healthy, and now I'm thinking they probably pumped it full of fertilizer to get it to bloom, and now it may still be kinda tired.

I did a quick search and found on Chadwick Orchid site under “Deformities”, about phal mutations, and they recommend another blooming period to see if it repeats. Another site recommends this too. There are so many reasons for these mutations apart from what we do or don’t do.
@OrchidWhisperer
@OrchidWhisperer Жыл бұрын
@@Joe-nj3bb you can repot them after they bloom and the blooms have had time to set. Flush the bark with water, that should help with the salt buildip.

Hey sweetie all a great bunch of blooms! Hey I'm not sure what ppm or what % Calnitrate your using but I have phals leaves do that from too high Calnitrate, with the Jack's. I'm not sure why. I have tried to figure it out. I have increased it twice over 55%-65% Calnitrate in your mix. Jack's is strong and something in it causes phals to really fuss. So maybe that is what it is. Rick L really used alot of Epsom salt with phalaenopsis. It brings leaves back. Brings shine to them and hardens them.

Thanks Paula...I appreciate you! I'm thinking about the seaweed. I'm going to wait to see how my other Phals bloom out. My other orchids do well with it, no malformations. Have a great day, my friend! 😊💞

Hello Amy, Can you please tell me how to get rid of gnats on my orchid barks? I have put water cups, baby powder cups, cinnamon powder cups around the pots, but still the ngats are there.

How would the recipe be if your omitting the seaweed, since we are trying to get 50-55 ppm with the cal mag and seaweed?
@OrchidWhisperer
@OrchidWhisperer Жыл бұрын
It would be the same without the seaweed...you would still use 50-55ppm calmag.

@@REAGAN_1980 you mean Bl. Richard Murller? That’s totally far from this one. The one in the vid def gives off L purpurata vibes, but the size and number count make it look like it has L anceps mixed in there.
