I agree. J and K skincare is so overwhelming, there's so much to choose from that I really appreciate a good reviewer whose not just being paid to say what the companies want them to say. I've bought loads of things on the strength of her recommendations and explanations of texture, ingredients and personal experience.

Aestura cream has saved my skin. I had a bad flare up due to diet and extreme dry skin, lasted about a month and a half. I was going nuts, my skin hated everything except water 😅 I found this cream and figured why not, it had good ingredients and in a few days my skin was almost healed. I'm almost done with the container, already purchased another. Nothing beats Korean skincare for me. I'm American but American skincare just doesnt play nice with my skin at all.
@angelinebiswas7611 Жыл бұрын
Exactly the same! At this point in my life I’m almost scared to let North American products besides a few select items, to touch my skin. I’ve had soooo many bad reactions irritations, pilling, etc and Asian creams and skincare come along and save my shitty skin. Nothing beats Asian skincare and the prices aren’t ridiculous either, formulations actually have a purpose and the textures and quality is far above. Our skincare in the US is sub standard and kind of behind the times. Like 2010

Tina, I want to really thank you for showing us yourself(especially upclose) without any smoothing filters or anything else. Even though i've been watching your vids for quiet a while, I literally teared up while watching this video today. Recently my self esteem was low, i got so frustrated with my skin, and seeing you helped me remember that human are supposed to have pores, that it's normal to have pimples and blackheads and redness here and there. My skin is a normal human skin. Thank you so much, Tina, i love you

Don't be so hard on yourself sweetness! Yes we are all human and have our "imperfections" but honestly they are the best parts and make us unique and perfect in our own way 😌✨ Also I just don't have the time or skill to add filters etc haha - I edit in a smaller view and sometimes surprise myself rewatching it on how clearly you can see my pores 🤣 But hey it's the truth and if it helps people watching like you - I am all for it 💗💗💗

Omg I was also thinking of the Hada Labo brightening toner when you mentioned Ipsa, I saw the Ipsa toner on sale and got it for 50 AUD, it felt nice and was decently hydrating for the lightweight texture but I have to say I still like the Hada Labo one way more, the moist version of it is just so much more hydrating and feels more calming, brightening, and helped fade my red marks more, not to mention it’s much much cheaper too 😂

I was JUST talking about IPSA to another skincare creator the other day (and also found out they were under Shiseido at the same time🥲 I'm a fake J-beauty fan, I guess) I would love to see a video or a post comparing different types of this lotion/toner (ofc not challenging you to try this but would very much be grateful to have you examine their marketing and reviews😭) Also love the mention of how J-beauty approaches acne care! Licorice is definitely THE ingredient that puts so many products into the "quasi drug" category for acne care... I do think that it's still a very solid approach since otherwise those products tend to still focus on hydration aka rebalancing the skin and keeping the barrier happy while helping lighten the existing spots🤔 Does definitely take much longer than just zapping it all with BP.....But also doesn't wreak havoc as often lol

I'm going to Japan soon and have been chewing through most of your recent videos lately to compile a shopping list lol IPSA was something I was interested in and I'm glad you mentioned licorice root, it's something I'm actively avoiding after healing from TSW (steroid withdrawal) and licorice root affects cortisol levels, albeit I'm sure it's barely noticeble in skincare but still gotta be careful. :( Please keep providing these sorts of info! It's really valuable :)

I watch this Japanese KZbinr かずのすけ who compares that ipsa toner to drugstore ones like the Hada Labo one, where a lot of the cost is into that packaging, but the ingredients are pretty average and you can get the same benefits from the hada labo premium whitening toner. I love the Aestura cream mist, I've used a few of them as it's like laneige but lighter

I truly wonder how people who enjoy the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner use it. I had the exact same issue - my skin is dry but I really don't know where to put it in my routine. It's not occlusive enough to use it as a moisturizer, as my last layer, but it also doesn't allow me to layer much on top. Eventually I just used it up on my body where I feel like it sank in a bit better and I could put a body lotion on top. Maybe it works well for more minimalist routines, but not for us layering fans.

Public service announcement for all prescription lens wearers (especially those with astigmatism): Before you order expensive coloured prescription lenses PLEASE PLEASE study how your regular lenses sit on your eyeballs; you may see that the circle of the lens does not sit perfectly over your iris, with parts of the lens perhaps 'hanging' lower under one eye or higher on one etc. What do you think will happen when you colourise such lopsided (yet extremely comfortable) lenses? Spoiler alert: you'll suddenly have eyes that look like they're pointing in two different directions. The lenses rotate until they sit perfectly on the shape of your individual eye but sadly, this rotation affects how the coloured circle sits on the eye. It's an enormous gamble to order bespoke or just expensive prescription lenses for astigmatism, or indeed, if you haven't sat in front of a mirror in bright light to analyse how your lenses sit. I envy anybody who can have fun with coloured prescription lenses. Tina can wear anything and look gorgeous, lucky thing. 🤩👁

Re Cosrx Galactomyces Toner: 😅 I really liked this one! It was my first ever Galactomyces product that I bought after hearing abt the SK-II essence‘s over the top marketing and what not. Have since also tried the one by secret key. Cosrx has imo a better texture as it is not as thin… I’d say it lies between a typical watery toner and the Hada Labo dark blue premium toner). Even though the Secret Key has a similar price at DOUBLE the product, I used it up much faster than the Cosrx toner. Maybe that is because the thicker Cosrx product allowed for more precise usage with the pump head. I feel like the Cosrx calmed my skin better than the Secret Key and so because I had a longer use out of the Cosrx product despite it being smaller in size, I actually prefer and recommend it! I think I may try one or two other Galactomyces products in the same price range like the Some By Mi or so but the Cosrx toner might just take the crown after all! (Also please Tina Id Love for you to make a Galactomyces Toner Comparison video that includes ones by SK-II, Time Revolution, Cosrx, Secret Key, Some By Mi and maybe others that I don’t know of 😌)
