Winter rockhounding is limiting because of ice and snow and frigid temperatures but with unseasonably warm weather it was time to hit the beach. This is a new to me beach. Lake Erie. Geneva State Park in Ohio. Beautiful blue slag, fossils, colorful rocks everywhere. #rockhounding #rocks #fossils #greatlakes #lakeerie #minerals #granite #feldspar #epidote #unakite #beaches

Well, you are one fortunate lady. I am only an hour away from Lake Erie but I don't get there as often as I would like.

Thanks for watching and commenting. That is amazing that you find so much glass. There are so many people looking for it on our beaches that I find very little. Where do you think it is all coming from, our side or your side?

@@timtalksaboutrocks....most6644 i hear about all the people that come down to our beach too just to look for glass. i wondered for some years now where it might all come from and im not too sure whos side it could be lol

9:45 is very interesting looking ! Got to admit, I am loving the wave sounds :) So many great finds on Lake Erie. Enjoyed the rock hunt😊

That fossil at 9:45 is broken at a weird angle so ID is tough. It is for sure Rugose type coral but I need to sand it down to get a good look at the pattern.

I only get to Ashtabula. I tried Geneva once and drove all the way up….only to find out it was motorcycle weekend and there was a mile of bikes parked side by side, both sides of the road. Holy cow.

It is a great one for rockhounding. There is also sand. Rocky by the water, sandy away from the water.
