I had no idea Beverly Hills had working sirens!

@@HappyJigg They just installed them about a year ago, and this is the second audible test of them, and of all 12 of them.

Idk, but when techs were working on the system on October 9th, they accidentally set all 12 off in Fast Wail. Idk how they did, but maybe the pressed the wrong button instead of silent test, if the buttons were labeled/labeled right. Here you can hear they were activated in Fast Wail before quickly being canceled, then a command for Alert was sent out afterwards. I think they are still determining what tone to use for tests and real emergencies. Once they start testing them every quarter starting next year, we shall see what time they end up choosing for tests, however the Voice messages in my opinion are too long.

wonder why Beverly Hills decided to put sirens in for? surely cant be for bad weather or anything like that.

Here’s a direct quote the City put out: Following the devastating wildfire season of 2017 - 2018, the Beverly Hills City Council identified the installation of an Outdoor Warning System as a priority project in order to keep community members safe and informed in the event of an emergency or disaster. The purpose of this system is to alert and warn those outdoors of potential or emergent hazards that may threaten life and/or property (i.e. wildfire, extreme weather, etc.).
