Cant understand why you're not in bed at silly Q;clock. Very good angling. Seeing you turn the swim around was a big lesson to me. Super tutorial on braid fishing, gonna have to watch this a few more times yet, to let everything sink in. Really enjoyed the video. And an a personal note to PI, we;re out of europe now, so for the sake us fossils, could we drop the wretched metric units and go back to good old imperial. I still struggle with petrol in litres, grapes by the kilo, and rods by the meter. After all, maggots come in the same units as beer.lol. Don't mind me, just getting older. Well done on another great video. Keep up the good work Lee, you're an inspirstion.

Hi Lee, great video. As always, you are in perfect fishing shape. Very interesting rig - I will use it for fishing common nase (sneep) in the San River - these fish do not like thick lines (and hooks), so the feeder gum will be useful. Greetings from Poland.

Hi Lee, this is the video I’ve been waiting for as I wanted to see a top anglers take on fishing with braid. For my own fishing it really started when I tried Berkeley Fireline, which is a coated braid like your Preston braid. Nowadays I don’t use braid but have switched to a fused line which has the advantages of braid but isn’t braid so I can use it when braid is banned. As a plus point it doesn’t grate in the rings because it is smooth like mono and casts better than braid and doesn’t get wind knots, and is much more abrasion resistant . I use it in 0.11 and only use a shockleader when I’m using a feeder of more than 40 grams and punching the cast. The rig was interesting as so many anglers don’t use their wrist when playing fish or are using a stiffer rod. I simply run a Preston quick change bead up the line. Add two float stops and twizzle a loop with a quick change snap swivel at the end. But as I have an open mind I will revisit your power gum link which I tried a few years ago. Thank you very much for your take on this subject and thanks to Joe for nicely filming this video. Regards Bill

Great video as always from lee, I watched your video with Joe Carass a few weeks ago in your garage talking about the rig that you were using for the feeder pairs, I asked joe if he could ask what knot you were using to tie the power gum to the mainline as I was having trouble with the power gum slipping off the line, Joe Carass messaged and said he would try and do a video on it but after watching this one I'm all sorted so thanks to both of you. the wet knot has been solid and mainline to power gum has been strong. Thanks a lot to both of you and Joe Carass.

Hi Lee, great video. Apart from the excellent instruction on braid, I was wondering about your decision making to fish at the distance you did. Was it based on previous fishing knowledge and topography at the lake or did you just decide on a spot and rely on the pulling power of the bait and regular casting to draw the fish in. Thanks Andy.
@leekerryangling72504 жыл бұрын
Andrew Griffin Hi Andrew. Based on previous experience, I knew the fish wouldn’t be really far out, but would probably feel happiest in winter once the water was at its deepest. Which in this venue is over 20m.

thanks folks another really helpful and well presented video. couple of questions: I noticed you had a lot of your rod beyond the rest head - is that deliberate based on using braid or just how you normally like it? secondly does braid behave any differently in a river where there is reasonable flow from how it performs in a still water? thanks
@leekerryangling72504 жыл бұрын
Preston Gilding Hi Preston. It might look quiet close but I usually have it a couple of rings up, feel like I can keep the rod stable and it doesn’t get in the way. For the river, I don’t like it unless the flow is practically nothing. Braid picks up flow more than mono, not sure why as it should be thinner, but I think it’s make up means it has more friction etc. So I stick with mono on rivers.
