Sea angler for year's, using heavy century rods, multiplyers 6oz weights etc...I live close to course fishing lakes in The Burren Co Clare. I bought a John Wilson quiver tip rod for mullet. So I went to the tackle shop today and bought course fishing tackle, small hooks, feeders,floats, maggots, sweet corn , ground bait and rod rests. Heading out in the morning. I'm so looking forward to it. I want to catch bream tench, and hybrids. Your technique with the sprite floating the maggots should be great for mullet. Thanks for the tips 👍

Been on many holiday's around Europe but best ever was going fishing in Ireland best holiday ever so different to the UK, big natural venues and loads of fish when you get on them you never see another person most day's but don't be shy when it comes to prebaiting .And if you really want to catch big weights prebait again before you leave and fish the same peg the next day and do the same that day for the next day trust me it works.

I have learnt from this. Previously i keep piling in the bait hoping a shoal will turn up. Maybe the fish have been there all along, and by piling in bait, they are not taking my hookbait. Also changing feeders and hook lengths is a fantastic tip.

This is what makes utube such a great learning tool. This is truely a superlative fishing tutorial. This guy bubbles up with excitement for his subject. There isnt an ounce of padding. Every word is worth listening to. Every thing that is said is a pearl of wisdom. Its a masterclass from a master. The next time i tackle an Irish lake I will do so with a lot more confidence. Thanks so much.

First class steve,great tutorial. When I was there on the erne I got soaked and sunburnt everyday but boy did we catch a lot of fish.I'm assuming on the festival's your banned from catapulting groundbait cos that was the key to big bags for us,cast then feed straight away and the tip went round everytime. It's sad that we can't do that in this country cos of fishery rules,but work it does.pleasure to watch you steve.👍

Great video, really useful advice and tips, Agree Guru feeder system covers all options and very pleased with the range I have. We have switched from Southern Ireland to the north for our trip on 2nd September, alittle apprehensive as we have no experience of the waters, would really appreciate some information on spots around Enniskillen. The Erne 100 is on when we are there so might limit our choice. Thanks again

Hi Steve could you help please never fished in Ireland limited feeder fishing knowledge but absolutely love it..first of all do you take any bait with you or do you get all of it over in Ireland and what’s the name of the tackle shop in the video and is that the one nearest to that lake I’ve gradually built up my feeder fishing kit but haven’t got the powerful kit yet but am working hard to get it and this great video as inspired me to reach one of my dreams.. so thanks Steve for passing on your knowledge and time.... 60 year old feeder rookie gary from London 👍

@kingkompany59084 жыл бұрын
I agree in the main, I could watch him all day, although I think perhaps the benefit of the various forms of feeders is overplayed slightly and is more about product placement. People seem to resent that, they forget someone/something has to pay for these videos and won't accept it if they feel they are on the end of a sales pitch. The only part I turned my nose up at was the extra distance the window feeder gives by straightening your braid being used as a selling point... Just adjust where you're clipped up. Anyway... It's a fantasitc video and he is a genius. His thought process is just on another level. Also, how nice to watch an angling video and not have it ruined by shitty drum n base music.

Great stuff Steve reminds me of my red letter weekend at Raleigh reservoir got ther Friday tea time catapulted half a black dustbin full of groundbait out with my secret ingredient of worms from my dad's composer Brown crumb strawberry nesquick for colouring few red maggots some alive some dead some hemp plus the oil bit of sweet corn some finely cubed hardened luncheon meat and didn't start to fish until seven Saturday morning with a thirteen foot carp rod which i had converted with a threaded tip eye i.e. swingtip or quivertip reel was a Shimon bait runner ten pound reel line and six pound maxima hook lenght size ten hooks if memory serves me right after all it was twenty years ago lol the end result was two twelve foot foot carp keep nets full of bream ,, roach ,, perch ,, the bream in that resevoir went between 8 and 12lbs ,, i was knackered after fishing it Saturday so on the Sunday I just layed in my bivvie with an aching body but i had one hell of a big smile on my face cooked up a brekkie with a brew and looked out across the expanse of water ànd quietly said yes thankyou very much ardleigh resevoir i wont ever better tha what you have given me and drove home and was still living at home with my parents at this time at around sunday tea time bonus was i still had the monday off to soak it all in plus clean my gear yuk bream slime but what a long weekend.

Hi Steve great vid as always ,,, for the first time I've attached a leader to braid but I've only around one turn of leader on the reel will this be okay as if i remember you say around four turns of leader on the reel,, cheers.. Mick.

Firstly Steve Great video nice info and some nice catches,,, secondly i can't afford a rod like that so i was thinking of turning the Diawa 11ft carp match pellet waggler into a feeder rod obviously I'd spray the tip in white ,, would this be okay and what are your thoughts on this.

Hi, I'd like to get into this sort of fishing. Silly question - is Steve using a line clip to hit the same spot over and over? Im not sure how he keeps fishing the same spot without a clip.
@MegaVinny733 жыл бұрын
Yes will be clipped. You see him at the beginning using the poles in the ground to wind line around to the distance he wants to clip up to and fish.
@harryarteza34353 жыл бұрын
@@MegaVinny73 Thanks. So if he did hook a decent fish, which wanted to take line, he's in trouble. So I guess match guys don't use a clip when there's big stuff in front of them? Thanks for the advice
