We have cories and adf's. One 10gal has 6 cories and 3 adf. The other 10gal has 3 glass catfish, 7 cories, and 4 adf. I alternate 3 frozen blood worms cubes and 3 brine shrimp cubes on Mon, Wed, Fri. Everybody gets as much as they want. Nobody takes more than anybody else. First tank is 3 pandas and 3 albino. Second tank is 4 different sterbai combinations, 2 bronze, 1 peppered. There are 3 skunk cories waiting for me if I want them. The frogs and the cories get along great. The cories sniff the frogs for algae all the time. The frogs seem to like their backrubs. Haha. Sometimes I will find a frog being a frog blanket to a cory. The cories don't mind the cuddles. I love frogs and cories so much.

@@naturedo2 I have bad news to share about my 2 ADFs-1 was missing today & the 2nd one was hanging out all day at the surface. Today is barely day 2. I later noticed tonight that one of my goldfish was sucking on its 🦵 and yanked it under. It happened so quick I didn’t get a chance to pick up my tool to save this guy. He died so quickly. Within like 30 seconds. Had all his limbs out in that zen pose & his tiny hands were shaking really quick then he died. He didn’t even try to swim up after he got pulled down idk why. 🪦 it was very sad 😢 I’m probably too traumatized to try again especially while my goldfish is still in there-would recommend ADFs for a tank w/ smaller mouthed fishies maybe. I’m assuming the 1st missing ADF was also murdered by my goldfish.
@greyb3659 Жыл бұрын
@@voz5585 I wouldn't house ADFs with any other fish period, unless you put nerite snails or other smaller snail species with them. They tend not to mess with snails and think they are just pebbles or rocks. If you house them with smaller species of shrimp such as cherry shrimp, you may find all your shrimp eaten. If you do house your froggies with fish, make sure the fish are the same size or smaller than them. Larger fish may try to eat the frogs (as seen in this situation), or the frogs will try to eat the smaller fish

@naturedo23 жыл бұрын
I've never seen my frogs do this, so really can't give you much advice! They will sometimes try out the greens I put in the tank for my otos (broccoli usually) but they never seem too bothered and prefer their worms. Are you definitely sure it's your frog? They don't have teeth and kind of suck in their food, so to tear a leaf would take some effort! The plants shouldn't harm your frog anyway.

Hi, my tank is 23 gallons but only 12 inches high. I think they do ok at 18 inches but the lower the better really.
@naturedo24 жыл бұрын
@@blakehaun972 Hi, I agree that 1 to 2 gallons per frog seems to be the recommended amount. I wouldn't like 5 in a 5 gallon either - maybe push it to 3 but no more. When you get to a bigger volume of water you can be more ambitious, just for the fact that a large water volume is easier to keep stable. As for current they don't like it too high. I have a bubbler in my tank and they struggle with that if they get caught in it, unlike the fish who like to play in it. As for the height of tank, the more shallow the better. Mine is 12 inches. Hope this helps :)

I have mine in a 20-30 gallon (can’t remember which) “long” tank by Aqueon. They can swim up about 12” easily and get stronger with time. Mine have become little Olympic athletes with their swimming strength over about 6 months time. You might put them in a 55 but keep the water lower, that way they have lots of room to swim side to side and can reach the surface easily. Mine launch themselves toward the surface off of the bare bottom glass with no issue. Note: The glass may give them more of a boost from the launching surface than sand or gravel.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I always wash my hands (and arms!) with plain hot water before I put them in the tank - I don't use soap. Most times my frogs are at the front waiting, but when they aren't, I gently lift them into position. With the buoyancy of the water it means that I only have to lightly touch them. I think that because it's all done under water, the chance of any oils transferring to the frogs is very slim. I do understand what you're saying though and thank you for airing your concerns.
