About Arowana Myth. It's kinda true but also kinda myth as well. There's a story about my friend who almost dead by heart attack. After the surgery, he got better. But 3 day after the surgery, her wife tell him that his Red Arowana just died from head butt himself at THE SAME NIGHT when he got surgery. The other one is from my other friend story. His Grandfather have a Arowana that he had for long time. When his Grandfather died, 3 day after burial, the Arowana jump from the Aquarium and died. He doesn't know why the Arowana do that. Some believe that the Arowana are lonely and can't stand to be left alone so the Arowana decided to kill himself. I don't know about mine but I hope she doesn't do that.

Can any of aquarium experts tell me is open aquarium's temperature lowers than closed one? Here in europe we are having a bad summer and i'm trying so hard to keep the temp down under 28°. I thought keeping the aquarium open might cool it 1-2°. One of my corycat died, i have 25 of them and they were pretty hardy up until now, they are just 3-4 months old, my 3 Ancistrus not looking happy either. I thought running my air pump over ice bucket too, so all the bubbles in the aquarium might cool the water. 140l aquarium with 2 150l capacity filters running.
@audrey-anngrenier42927 жыл бұрын
Tony Skywalker i had the same problem with my old 20 gallon tank, idk if its "okay" to do that but i set a few ice packs around the outside of the tank, and moved them around to adjust with the temperature, it reached safe temperature after 1or2 hours. Maybe that can help cool yours a bit? Just be careful not to drop too many degrees too fast, go slowly to acclimate the fish. Mine turned out okay, I hope this helps.
@Darshanaz7 жыл бұрын
I'm currently puting ice in to the aquarium but i don't like it, i'll give a try to your method.
@audrey-anngrenier42927 жыл бұрын
Tony Skywalker i read that directly in it can harm the fish, hope they turn out okay, try doing small water changes every day with cooler water until your weather eases up a bit, good luck!
@PavolSojak7 жыл бұрын
Hard to fight the heat wave. If it's for couple of days you can do it using ice (floating frozen bottle), ventilation (to support surface evaporation) or doing water changes... I had good results using 2x 1.5L bottles with frozen water on 200L aquarium, with fan blowing air over the surface. But if the +35C last for multiple days/weeks this is futile effort hence the whole environment is too hot, in that case you should think about active cooling (either aquarium chiller, or some DIY hacks, e.g. using 'hotel minibar/refrigerators' if you can get hand on any). Of course the best option is air-conditioning the whole room.
@ahmedamair85707 жыл бұрын
Tony Skywalker make water fall take the motor of water fall fixed it down and when the water comes up let it fall down side so by this process also the water may get cooler.or switch on ac. swith on the fan above the aquarium

I known the outline of the story, but it's not really personal enough to be that touching to me. And because this story is really recent and real in my mind, so seeing him have something to hold on to is nice. But the story of Jesus and God is not personal at all. That's really just how I see it.

Joey I am so sorry for your loss. I do believe the Asian Arowana myth can be true though (maybe because I am Asian myself?) But the story is that on the day my grandfather's brother passed away, his Arowana also jumped out of the tank and died. Arowana are really spiritual fishes, they have a very special place in Asian culture for a reason. Though a myth may only be a myth, but it feels a lot more meaningful and beautiful this way :)
