How is it the people that keep us alive by producing food make so little? If it costs money to produce the food that needs to be born by us...not screw the farmers into bankruptcy.. im sure if we look hard enough we could find a few jobs in our bloated govt that wecould do without and put that money towards growing our food responsibly. ..

The reason is because only 4 companies dictate the market and the pressure is to constantly produce more per acre. Not because some federal employee has a job.

Unfortunately they continued to allow the construction of the CAFOs. Now they need to spend some money on water treatment facilities that can handle the denitrification and removal of the phosphates. On the bright side it sounds like they have created more jobs. Protecting our water sheds should be more than an after thought.
