Liam But. There's nothing wrong with playing a bass if you've got skill. As long as its not only playing the root note and/or playing out of time, you're good You don't have to be like John Myung, Steve Harris, David Ellefson, Cliff Burton, Les Claypool, or Steve Giorgio. Just support he song (look at the bass in Queen, RATM,and Pantera) It may not be the most intricate thing, but it makes the song heavy and full, and that's what counts most in a band!
