Richard and Karen both said the money is in the basement, Karen's voice was beautiful no matter where she sang in her register but when she sang in the lower part of it (the basement) there was just something so bone chillingly good about it.

This is why music today is just crap to me.

But there is a beacon of hope in Indonesian singer Putri Ariani her music is modern and vintage.

The Carpenter's have gotten me through the hard times since childhood. I had an abusive childhood, so they were my escape even if just for a little while. When my first husband was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away 5 months later, my kids and I would listen to them and escape the pain. My current husband has also helped me with the pain in my life, but I always go back to the Carpenter's music. If you can, could you please react to the song "A Place to Hide Away" that's one of my favorites from them

I recently listened to Tori Holub do a cover of a Carpenter song and it was like listening to Keren's voice again after 45 years!

Great commentary. Yes, so important to look forward & to hope & be positive!😊 Positivity is an energy that attracts positivity. God bless you.❤ One of my favorite songs of the Carpenters was Jambalaya ( On the Bayou). It is a fast tempo fun sing-a-long party song!❤ Hope you can react to it!

Not only was Karen a great singer but she could play the drums pretty good, someone else you may want to consider listening to is the group Sprite and the song Nature's Way.

I didn't appreciate them when I was younger, I'm 50 now and I've loved them since I was in my 30's. For All We Know is my favorite by them!

Even though others wrote the lyrics for their songs, Karen had a way of being emotionally invested in the performance of each recording so that you felt her. In this one she was still hoping to meet Mr.Right, which unfortunately never happened. The video is kind spooky, looking like it was shot in a cemetery.

It was filmed at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, California (near Los Angeles), which was a big deal because the museum and gardens did not ordinarily permit such activities.

the guy singing with her is her brother, richard. he wrote and arranged most of their music.

Brother Richard and Sister Karen. That sang uplifting songs and yet Karen was so unhappy with herself and died of anorexia.
