YES, thank you for more Carpenters!!! A beautiful vocals by Karen...one of her best. But the line"In my own time, nobody knew...the pain I was going thru..." always seems very prophetic for her. :/

The production value, the delightful harmonies, Karen”s exquisite vocal elocution... You simply can’t go wrong with The Carpenters for easy listening. “Beautiful” and “Delightful” are great descriptors!

No one else has reacted to that Carpenter's song snd it's truly a song that takes me to a place where there is no thought. It's so masterfully constructed so as to lift you from one moment to the next in some kind of bliss. It truly emphasizes Karen Carpenter's magical depth of emotion and range of pure mystical ability. Good job.

Karen’s very first note starts on a low E flat, below middle C, displaying her incredible lower register, her “chest voice” that became her signature. She is absolutely one of the greatest vocalist of our time. Keep the Carpenters coming. I love them.

yeah, I would now agree with you … at first I thought maybe Marilyn McCoo, or Patsy Cline or even Linda Ronstadt - agreed, Karen is at the top

Karen Carpenter could sing the phone book and make it sound heavenly. Richard, her brother was responsible for picking the songs and the arrangements as well as playing the keyboards. Very often he would hear the completed work in his head beforehand and arrange it accordingly.

Richard carpenters arrangements were so really great. But with Karen's voice, as you said that she could sing the phone book and it would sound amazing. Her voice still gives me chills. Perfection.

Karen Carpenter's voice shone so bright that her brother's major contribution to Carpenters sound was too often overlooked. That was difficult for them both. Their background vocals were almost exclusively the two siblings recording themselves on multiple tracks. A perhaps minor point to note is that they were Carpenters, never THE Carpenters as Richard was always at pains to point out. No definite article appears on any of their official album releases and their famous logo is also pronoun-free.

I just love when you guys react to Carpenters! I agree that “Solitaire“ is the next song for you. Karen’s voice is at its most haunting and emotional peak.

Spring of '75. By this time, Karen was deep into weight loss. From this point on, it became a disease. Her obsession with Michelle Phillips of " The Mama's & Papa's " , always comparing herself , drove her to extreme , health damaging practices, especially " binge-purging " , which is deadly. -------------------Her voice here is just perfection. --------------------------WolfSky9

If you listen to the actual track on the album, it is slightly longer. One of their best songs.
