Maybe Zac needs to have his own space because he is almost a teenager and is probably feeling overwhelmed, as much as you are. I promise I am not having a dig as I did apologise for my rudeness before, but I think this is what is happening. You are all on top of one another because there is no space to be able to at least breathe and close the door and have 5 mins to wind down. My son also has additional needs and if he hasn't got space to cool off, the attitude and the argumentative backchat starts. Only thing that winds him down is being by himself, away from triggers/people. Everyone is different though. You are doing your best that's all you can do x

Awww I hope things get a bit better for you. You are superwoman getting everything done, you have a lot on your plate so don't beat yourself up. It's nice to hear other people in the same situations. I'm going through ASD and ADHD assessments for my Zac and have been very stressed with him! I've cried to many ppl over last few weeks! Spent one Tesco shop have Zac scream I'm the worst mum in the world whilst hitting my boobs 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ this was coz I wouldn't buy bloody smoothies! Anyway, chin up. You are doing fabulous and you have Gareth to support you xx

My eldest is 11 and very similar. I also have a 5 year old and its hard balancing the needs of everyone. You realise the older one is not not really a "child" anymore as such whereas the younger too can still be grouped together more. I would say it is definitely hormonal/developmental related.

Oh i also meant to say that the size of your house is not to blame we are fortnate to be blessed with a lot of space the girls each have there own rooms bathroom and chill out areas and i have mine and they still fight and fall out with each other and me..... in my mind the only thing i big house gives is more space to clean and u r constantly trying to maintain and upkeep it and thats unfortunately left to me px

When my eldest was 11 I had an 8 and a 3 year old to deal with too and the age gap between youngest and eldest made it difficult, doing things to keep all of them happy was very hard. At 11 before/just as they start secondary school it’s that tricky age, hormones etc . My son used to be so cocky and answer back, start grunting instead of answering, literally weeks into his first year of secondary school. Having a difficult youngest 3 year who was showing symptoms of ADHD , wouldn’t eat barely anything I put infront of her, had really bad tantrums was really challenging, I’d end up in tears some days, then trying to be a wife too when you’re exhausted too, we split when my youngest was 6, apart from other things because we had such different parenting styles and it was his child, the other two were from my ex husband and I found him starting to favour the youngest (his own child) which he swore would never happen, my daughters behaved changed for the better literally a few months later. Once she got over the trauma of course of seeing daddy, once at the weekend only (she was such a daddy’s girl, probably as she had him wound round his little finger) she was confused by both parents going between one another , discipline wise, me being the strictest) 🙄x

Puberty begins earlier and earlier, and with that comes hormones and moods. Neurodiversity adds another layer. The best advice I was given, was to react with love. It is so hard to do, but it’s the only thing that works. Not to say you let them walk over you, but it’s your tone, and reaction. Good luck ❤

When things get hard with my son it’s almost always around a change like the time change, starting or ending school.. a growth spurt.. needing a med change. Then the typical teen stuff. I remember he had loose tooth when he was little, the hygienist said. I felt awful. How could it have happened? I said what is the remedy. She said it falls out and an adult tooth grows in its place. I forget all the typical stuff having to navigate the needs.

Oh bless you! I had no idea they got 2yr old molars, when the dentist said my eldest had them all, I was like 'what they get more teeth??' 😅 I think the change in attitude/behaviour was due to him having exams that week...but they never say what is bothering them, do they, it just comes out in their behaviours x

Honeybee i would love to sugar coat it and say pre teen behaviour will get better anytime soon it doesnt and i know that u know my 3 teenage daughters have each put me through it and although at 19 18 and 16 things are better the sh*t still hits the fan like last night my eldest phoned me using a barrage of bad language because the youngest had helped herself to her wrap which she had made and left in the fridge for her tea ... like how did this become my fault ????? I pick my battles i made sure that she knew the next time she spoke to me like that i would not be enaging with her. I knew that you must have been struggling when u went a little quiet online u really just have to take it one day one child and one trantrum at a time some days are easier than others and some not so . At least u and hareth are on the same page as u know i didnt have that support but hey ho i am through the other end so u will be fine . I hate seeing you like this so i willdo my best to check in with you for a quick later later tonight over a well deserved gin lol px

I’d love to sugarcoat it, but unfortunately I can’t, teenagers are bloody hard work and it’s certainly a challenge. There’s no rights or wrongs is there? We just have to do our best and it won’t last forever. Personally I’m not sure you should apologise for losing your temper, I don’t think it hurts the children to know you can only be pushed so far and they’d obviously pushed you to to your limit, so they need to know that xx

No one is super human and kids can drive you to the end of your tether so it's just normal to lose it sometimes . Being a nanny now I try and keep calmer as I do childcare for a 5 year old 22month and 9month old, all my daughters children . I get very tired and thats when it gets hard to keep your rag . Life is stressful and you have a lot on your plate and its bound to get on top of you. Hang on in there you are doing a great job !
