This message has blown my mind. As someone who struggles with constant overthinking, I see why I feel much better after journaling and doing voice memos. For years I was in denial about being sexually abused by my father. Last year my body couldn’t take holding that trauma in for 33 years and depression got so deep from holding that in. I got down to 98 lbs because my body rejected my reality. Once I confronted my father and processed why I lived the way I was living due to trauma God delivered me from ALOT. Fornication, unforgiveness, addiction, and depression. Thank you for this message it’s been a year celibate and I desire marriage and don’t want to fall into temptation. This message is approved!!

I lost my wife a few days ago falling into lust with a random woman sexting. I struggled with watching porn since I was 6 years old. I know I've done wrong but I no longer want to be held down by my guilt nor lies I buried deep down that I never addressed. I'm now taking serious steps to getting into the WORD and looking to God to set me free of my past sins and show me how to forgive myself. I will never lose hope !

So I work in ophthalmology and I’ve been doing eye exams all day, everyday, for over 12yrs. Anytime a patient sits in my chair and they tells me they have an eye twitch, my FIRST question is always “are you under stress?” Our body tells us when something is wrong. It can show up in an eye twitch, headache, lack of sleep, anxiety, depression, stomach pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, knots, stiffness, or anything else. My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and lupus which are both auto immune diseases. With auto immune diseases, it’s your body attacking itself. I 1000000% believe that my mom had been going through this because she refuses to truly talk about whatever it is she went through in her life. So she bottles it up and it shows through her. Please, listen to your body! Write it down. Call a prayer line. However you gotta do it, please, just talk it out.

This is one incredible video. For so many reasons. Wow. Here’s something weighing on me tho. People aren’t like you, Pastor Tim. Or your family. When I was “exposed” for something-which was an enormous embellishment of the truth no less-just about every friend left me. We’re talkin 20 year friendships. Gone in a second. So, it’s not the always the enemy making us think we are gonna get rejected or abandoned. It’s graceless people. It’s been years now and I still don’t make friends bc I just don’t want to go through that. I struggle to choose the pain of potential rejection yet again over the numbing feeling of loneliness. Sad but true. This is why the concept of the basement is so wonderful. Many people don’t have that. Perhaps this should be an endeavor of mine: to create a place where people can go to offload shame, can feel accepted, and not let sin and maladaptive behavior fester. They could walk away feeling washed and anew. Something to think about. It’s time we reversed this sick cancel culture to a culture of Grace. I don’t know a single soul who hasn’t needed it, nor one who won’t!
@joer8273
@joer8273 Жыл бұрын
I’ll add this: Tim is right about his perspective that maybe they weren’t “friends” at all, but rather colleagues or acquaintances. How could that be, having been so friendLY so long? It all goes back to my childhood trauma wound. I didn’t trust they would stick around if they knew the worst of me. I had coped my whole life through rejection as a kid by performing. Not a good strategy! I have two friends who treated me no less different after hearing the worst about me-and yes, way worse than even reality. They still accepted me. There’s something really special about that. That’s why I try and be the Grace I wish to see in the world.

Thank you for holding space about the importance of vulnerability and truth telling. I'd Iove to see a Part 2, laced with Scripture (like this one) on 1) identifying safe people to share with and 2) how to BE a safe Christian so that others can confess in vulnerability to. Thanks!

I subscribed the first 5 minutes. The truth and vulnerability is all i talk about along with God and his word And i finally found someone who believes the same thing. I was molested by my female neighbor and then my step sister then later on by my older cousin....no wonder why i was addicted to porn. As i began my healing journey the first thing i had to do was be honest with self and others. I started telling people i waw molested, i forgave my molesters. The truth set me free. I was no longer bound by the shame or guilt. I took control of the situation and no longer allowed the situation to control me. It definitely made me realize i had attachments and abandonment issues. But you have to start with the truth you guys and it will set you free. Find someone who you can talk to that is Non judgemental. That will not make you feel more shame and guilty. Im starting my own youtube talking about these things and I do mindset and life coaching please tune in. Thank you

I love that brotha I’m the same exact way . People always say why do u tell people everything . I lost my mother at 17 when she was all I had . I went through 10 years of craziness and finally after prison and all kinds of adversity god woke me up . I found out that all of my growth was because I was open minded about what happend to me and how I could fix it . Having to learn to do that at such an early age I disciplined myself to talk about my pain influence others and myself in the process . It’s crazy the things I’m willing to tell people to try and help save them ! God bless you brother this was good information to put in the tool belt !❤🙏🏻😇

that part when you said she's just beautiful and it will never happen is exactly the discipline you need to give to yourself. one of the fruits of the spirit is self-control I know growing up we probably always said to ourselves oh there's no way I can control those random thoughts that come into my head. But I learned is with that discipline you can abstain and control your thoughts to a point not saying anyone's perfected it but ppl are learning.

What an awareness of the POWER a Pastor has with the word of God and how you are aware that that power can be abused if you choose to manipulate people that you are attracted to succumb to your fleshy desires. The awareness is amazing, the ability to walk it out is where the "REAL" work happens.
