Used to watch this with my mum in the 90s when I was a kid. In 2 weeks we are going to see the 25 years jubilee of Riverdance together.

Has anyone ELSE ever timed the two leading ladies between the time they're last seen on stage in soft shoes to when they rejoin the dance line in hard shoes? They HAD to have had a dresser putting on each shoe to make the switch that quickly! And obviously very well as neither misses step nor beat due to a shoe not fitting perfectly! Sheer amazement at just how fast and practiced those two are, throughout the entire production!😘😍😲🥳😎💝💖

They had, at most, 45 seconds. :)

The two leads don’t come on until 3:51 if you watch closely you can see more dancers joining at that time so they had well over a minute😄 (I’m a dancer myself and it it almost impossible to change your shoes within 30 seconds so of course they gave them extra time!)

My partner works doing planning and backstage work. It's astounding how fast an entire outfit can be switched with practice.

Oh HEAVENS YES!! We sat once and TIMED it that it took about 17-19 seconds from the time the two girls left the stage until rejoining the chorus line in hard shoes! Now THAT'S amazing teamwork to the dressing staff👏👏👏👏💕

Michael just flies across the stage. Such an improvement over traditional Irish dance.

I'm watching this excellent show today because it's St Patrick's Day. In fact everything I've done today more or less has had Irish connections, be it Folk Music, or phoning friends

Flatley is definitively in a class of his own. I have wondered why Nolan always struck me as excellent but not quite. For example Nolan struts almost as well as Flatley. But his strutting relies on aggressivity as is demanded by his character. Flatley's is just pure exhilaration in the dance.

I understand that they had to update the show and all that, but I mean common this music though 😱😱 is just amazing. Unfortunately I was able to see the show in 2014 so missed the original music which was so much better.

I always hated the use of slo-mos and repeats by the editors - I wanna see all the awesome stuff Michael Flatley does, not miss some of it because one thing he did is being replayed twice and slowed down...
@Mrnickstr896 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Apparently that was Michaels call. It does take away from the show for sure. Every Irish dance movie I’ve seen, even riverdance has done the quick cut editing instead of a more wide shot follow which would be easier to follow.

Pretty sure Micherael once admitted to wearing through 2 pair(shoes AND taps) per show...that's near insanity! No wonder his joints couldn't keep up the healing!!💖💔

Такое ощущение что, между блондинкой и брюнеткой идёт война, но брюнетка танцует круче
