I am also considering buying a mint condition PSP from Japan. I want to buy a PSP 1000 model though because that is the model I used for many years when I was younger. I just wonder about region locks. Can I make it region free with cfw and run every American UMD movie and game?

I forgot if you can run movies using cfw but when I hacked mine I think I remember hearing you can do something to bypass that for movies. Sorry I can't remember but I'm pretty sure you can if you look into it

I think it's a waste that Sony doesn't make PSP's anymore. Even if the console doesn't have new games and if it's completely Jailbroken, they could sell them for any price to compensate the build price, and people would still buy it. It's a very quality product, it has the best construction of most portables I've seen, the 3000 series on the bright colors are the best ones ever, and they all look awesome. Frankly instead of wasting time with PS1 mini, they should re-release a PSP for people to be happy with! XD

In a perfect world we would have had the PSP3 by now. It hurts knowing the next PSP is basically a WiiU gamepad for the PS5. At the very least we still have the original PSP to fall back on 😊 Thanks for watching!

It is a common issue that in the psp model 2000 stopped reading umd’s? And if it is a good idea to replace the drive or buy another one?

That's usually a common issue with PSP 1000s. I haven't heard of 2000s having that problem much but if you think it is easy for you I would replace the UMD drive. If you don't want to go through that then just hacking your PSP and adding the UMD games you have to an SD card should be fine 👍

I paid $133 for my Felicia Blue 2000 psp after tax. It’s in pretty good shape but damn I was surprised $133 is a little bit of change. 😹 jaja I’m tempted to get a 3600 mah battery and mod it.
