And trust is the base of love. My tom cat was in october 2014 accidental trapped for over 3 weeks in a garden house beside a road construction area. I walked the city day and night looking for him but could not find him. I had already given up the hope to find him alive when he came back crying hoarsely and non-stop. He had been crying all the time but the construction area had been so loud nobody heard him. He looked like a ghost. Big eyes full of panic, very thin and completely dehydrated. He first stopped crying when I took him up comforting him - I was in a bath robe I wraped him in - and sat down, with him in my arms, until he stopped shivering. I sat awake all night at his bed fearing he would die, listening for his heartbeat. I stayed by his side without leaving for over 2 weeks. Since normal cat food turned out to be to much for his poor stomach after all that time and he needed water I was told I had to feed him with cooked chicken in a water and rice soup. He did not like that at all. He wanted the food the other cat got. But when i got down on my knees to feed him by hand and talked gently to him to convince him he took it. I fed him many times a day and tryed make sure he would get enough water. He was also heavily traumatized. Whenever the noise outside started again he was in fear. He came close to my body to hide under my clothes and I held him trying to signalize him protection. Of course I also took him to the vet to check. He recovered well. Since then we were inseparable and have a special kind of communication. And in the years after, whenever I was hurt bodily or emotional he came to comfort me. He talks to me and answers. I get "cleaned" by licking my arms, fingers, face or gently biting my hair. He does not seem to doubt my decisions - like going to the vet - even if he hates it. He would never scratch me even been given a jab. When I pick him up he often lays both paws on the sides of my face, gently, without claws. When I have to leave he follows me out, to sit down and when I am back he already is awaiting me. Once I had to go to the the hospital after an accident. He ran after me loudly "warning" me to go inside the emergency room. Like "you are hurt, come home". He never wants to let me cross the nearest big street alone. Despite he is old now and can not walk good anymore he follows to "protect" me from cars, big dogs and so on. I have to lock him inside the house so he does not put himself in danger by his "protection". He even tryed to attack a dog 3 times bigger in order to protect me - I had to held him back while he was hissing (probably the worst insults) at the dog. This little old cat, with walking problems, tryed even to run after the dog to scare it away from me... He is my best friend, my family and I love him with all my heart. I think he knows that. His name is Tom. Sometimes I call him Major Tom. He is so brave and loyal. I will try to give him the best retirement a cat can have - until death does us apart. But most of the time I call him "count" because of his long white paws on black, noble mind and because he seems to like the sound of the word. When I call him majesty or count he rolls around, cuddles and starts to purr delighted. Clearly he has been an aristocrat in a former life. I´m not a fan of aristocracy but in this case that´s okay for me as long he considers me his lady.

I live in NYC and every time I go into a Bodega their cats always approach me. My late tuxedo cat use to groom me. He always had to be in the same room as me too. He use to follow me around the house all the time. If I would go upstairs to the bedroom and was upstairs for a while. Soon after my cat would come looking for me. It wasn’t like he was hungry or thirsty either. He was just very attached to me. We found him in our backyard when he was a tiny baby kitten. His mom never returned for him. So we fed him via bottle and ended up keeping him. I miss him so much. The last 19 months without him have not been easy. Cats are very smart.

#1 The "tummy trap". Nope, depends on the cat. For some, they don't get out of kitten play mode, and it is an invitation to play. Some cats like to grab your arm with front paws, double kick with back paws, and gently nibble (soft bites) on your hand. Of course as it goes on, they can get carried away and bite and kick harder (an "ow" will generally stop them). I have had cats all my life. Some will let you rub, some won't ever let you, and others go "play time!" It is not a blanket "breach of trust" (unless you force it upon a cat who does not want to be touched). With some cats, it can be a trust builder, inviting you to play (I call it "kicky kicky bitey grab"). Current rescue perma baby does this one, and it made her bond with me more.

Dogs senses emotions, with cats I believe they are telepathic of experiences I had with my cats. Its not as easy to just assume what your cat is thinking, but it is the time you spend with your cat that picks up this trait of a possible fact. I can explain but too much to do so, just say I rarely have to be vocal most times but still have words they do understand, like GET DOWN! NO while shaking my head, HUNGRY? FOOD? Come here , ect. It is the time you spend with your cat, the more time with cat the more they pick up things from you without being too vocal. They just become part of your persona of daily routine. Less time they just cats out and about away from you of being bored when being avoided.

@lifeunfiltered. Ain't it so? Ain't it so? I argued with a U.S.D.C. Inspector who was going to write me up for feeding the feral cats at a food production plant. I told him of my private Catch, Spay & Release Program, which I had been effectively operating for 5+ years and showed him photos of a huge, alpha male rescue curled up on my pillow at home. In 5 years, I had reduced the feral cat population by 24 (60%) and citations for rodents, indoors, had become virtually nonexistent. The Inspector never questioned me again. Ferals can be difficult, but NOT impossible.

We have 2 beautiful black fur babies that always run to greet us at the door when we return. When I do go out, I occasionally come across other cats or dogs or my sisters many pets, who have marked me. My kitties kick in to heavy sniff mode, eventually leave seemingly upset with me, only to return and mark me like crazy. I take this as a territorial thing. Yes, call me a crazy cat lady but I havent met a kitty I cant conversate with or one who didnt enjoy my pats. Thankfully I noticed that my daughter has the same traits as well. I know cats can tell when a person is not a cat person or appears to be a threat. One instance several years back I had a fairly new friend over. I didnt know them really well but it was a start of our friendship. When they first came over, one of my kitties (male) went to greet them but before reaching them, they turned around and bolted to my bedroom. My female kitty, she never went near him at all. Later when I was in the kitchen, I heard that same kitty let out a growl and a cry. As I was coming around the corner into the lvrm to check on him, I saw them squeezing out from under a cushion in the corner of the couch behind my guest who had them pinned and was clearly pressing back really hard. I had a few choice words for them and reminded them that THEY are a guest in my kitties home and I demand respect for them. Needless to say, I didnt see that 'new friend' much after that. Years back my daughter started asking me if kitties can see ghosts. She would see them staring up at literally nothing in the corner of a darkened room. After turning on a brighter light and investigating the corner, there was nothing there. Thought perhaps maybe it was a little spider web moving with a breeze or a small fly or something that got in. But there would be nothing at all. It is usually the same corners too. One corner in the master bdrm and 1 in the lvrm. Kitties are remarkable, wonderful, loveable and entertaining and we are all blessed to have them in our lives. 🥰😻

My 9 year old black-fur, does not mind belly rubs -and I find him sleeping on his back sometimes. George will encircle my feet, when I watch TV. When I get in bed, he will sit along an arm or leg -he will lick my skin, then start to nibble and claw. I have learned this is his signal that his food/water is low, or he wants me to scoop litter, after use. George doesn't speak much, except when he awaits food. When he makes an aggressive "pppuuurrrrr" and thumps his tail -I know he is not happy. And it's alway like 3am, when he shows attitude - I want to sleep, if I do not obey, I will get scratched and nibbled. Rubbing his belly, helps sleep.

@georgehouse5086Ай бұрын
@deborah...I'm confused, or is it you? You say you don't agree with 10, yet you describe cat actions that closely follow the cat actions detailed in the video. My personal experience is that I have had multiple cats over the years which have gifted me mice, birds, large insects, legless lizards (and you know what THAT means), small snakes, et al, both dead and alive. And, you must realize that these are gifts and not hurt your buddy's feelings. I mean, who WOULDN'T care for such a sweet demonstration of affection in one's bed?

@georgehouse5086 no, you are not getting what I am saying. That is that in no way is my brother a cat whisperer when he likes teasing his cats and prefers dogs! I am therefore saying that when cats bring you gifts like my brothers cat does to him- it is not a sign that you are a cat whisperer. It is a sign of something else.

My cat, Rex, Empress of All She Surveys, loves a game of fetch! She also comes when called (usually). She’ll happily eat a treat out of my hand. Her most amazing quality, however, is how is knows when I need her. I have an extremely rare genetic disorder called Schwannomatosis. It causes a certain type of non cancerous tumor to grow on nerves. In my case they have grown on most of the nerves, nerve roots, and peripheral nerve bundles on my spinal cord. As you can imagine this causes intense pain. When the pain becomes just too much and I lie down to try and calm it, Rex comes and curls up directly over my heart and begins to purr as loudly as possible. Since a cat’s purr is within the therapeutic sound range this actually helps and it’s as if she knows. I call this her “Emergency Cuddles”.
@andrewm4564Ай бұрын
I am sorry to read about the painful disorder you have. It is wonderful that your Rex gives you such comfort. I have a similar story about my cat, Oreo. I had shoulder surgery a few years ago. When I came home from having the surgery, I had some pain in my shoulder (I am sure that my pain was much less severe than yours). When I sat down in my chair, Oreo immediately got up on my chest so that his purr was on my surgical shoulder. It felt so good. He still purrs on my shoulder sometimes. I call him Dr. Oreo.
@dizit.Ай бұрын
@ I’m so glad your Oreo also knows when you need his attention and help. It’s an amazing thing, isn’t it? Before I had Rex I was always a dog person. We had always had a cat or two, but they were essentially the kids cats. I was just the provider of food and the one who paid for veterinary care, etc. Rex decided that she was my cat and that was that. As a tiny kitten she’d curl up exactly where she does now during Emergency Cuddles and suck her paw, purring loudly, until she fell asleep. Who wouldn’t fall in love with that? And as for comparing pain, it’s impossible. When you’re having intense pain, such as post surgical pain, it’s absolutely nasty and right then it’s as bad anyone else’s. The only difference, really, in my mind, is that post surgical pain (thankfully) eventually goes away.

Can I make a suggestion, I wonder? I don't know enough about your ailment but contact the True North Health Centre in Santa Rosa California, run by Alan Goldhamer. He does extended water fasting. The theory is that fasting triggers a process called autophagy, where the body consumes everything it doesn't need. This includes things like purines (crystals which cause gout) cancerous cells, small growths and tumours - a lot of stuff. He might be able to advise you. Whenever I fast all my stiffness and my aches and pains go after about two days. I suspect in your case it would take longer but contact him - what have you got to lose?

It took me 9 MONTHS to train my calico cat to stop scratching at the door when she wanted out (my cats were indoor-outdoor cats). I wanted her to meow instead. She LOVED attention, so that was her reward. So anytime she made the slightest sound by the door, she would be lavishly rewarded with pets and ‘good kitty’. I’d wait a bit to open the door when she would scratch it. Then I would say ‘meow’ myself and only then open the door. Sometimes she would do it right and then seemed to forget. One day something clicked and she meowed to get out, constantly. (I really couldn’t tell her to be quiet now!) She loved ‘the door game’ so much that it felt I was the one being trained! I miss her..

Here is another possible sign that you are a cat whisperer: When your cat grooms you. My first cat, Oreo, sometimes jumps up on my neck and shoulders and licks my neck. His tongue is very scratchy, but I put up with slight discomfort from his tongue because I know he is grooming me like I am another cat. I agree with most of this, however cats should be kept inside to avoid their killing birds and to keep the cat safe from being hit by a car, or getting in fights with other cats and acquiring diseases, being harmed by bb guns or worse, by cat haters. Please love and protect your cat or cats.❤🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈

Why the heck would I learn my cats tricks like rol over and sit? What does the cat have about it? No there are tricks that breng them more, like learning them that my shoulder is always a save place, where they always can land on, if stuck in a tree or on a roof or a dog is after them. Or learning your cat the nicest way to sleep with you (like a girlfriend/ wive does, with the head on your breast and to your chin. And the rest of their body against your side. And that benifits both the cat and me, because the petting can last for about an hour, or until the fall in sleap. But it is the name 'cat whisperer' that I don't like. That sounds like us (we humans) are all in control. Has anybody ever thought about, that cats are human whisperers? Or at least humans and cats both are 50/50?

I hate to say this because I really like these videos but I can’t help but think “ get to the point and stop fluffing!” They’re a little drawn out
