One of my deep, dark fears happened once when I was bringing my cat home from the vet. The assistants had taken apart her carrier during the visit and did not put it back together properly. As I was walking through the parking lot, which was located in front of an extremely busy shopping center, the carrier fell apart and out tumbled my cat. My very first instinct was to drop down and call her name. The minute she hit the ground, she heard me and ran straight into my arms. She was freaked out and could have run anywhere, but her instinct was to immediately come to me. That's when I knew she was 100% bonded to me, and saw me as her person.

Sometimes it's not so sweet when they rub on you as a stranger. It's more of a territorial, 'this is my house, b*tch'. I'm a service electrician, and my favorite part is meeting other people's pets. Usually when a cat does this to me, it's not because they particularly like me, unless it's a kitten. Dogs are way easier to read.

I was a freshmna in college and didn't want or need a cat but when I held her for the first time outside I knew in my heart she was going to be my baby. It took very little time for her to get comfotable around me like she was laying on my chest hours after bringing her in. Now she treated like a princess, I don't get to see her as often as I'd like (I love 3 hours away on campus) but she knows me and misses me and loves me. She runs up to me screaming until I pick her up and let her purr in my face giving forehead kisses and receiving nose boops amd head buts. She really is my baby and I love her so much.

I had two very loving cats years ago who would twine their tails around my arms, literally holding me, when I petted them. Once when I had to travel on business for several days, with a great cat sitter watching them of course! - I came home to them and woke up the next morning with one of them sleeping in my hair, and the other one wrapped firmly around my forearm with his head in my hand. I was not going anywhere without them knowing about it! A few years later when I needed surgery, they guarded me almost constantly, wherever I went in our home until I was fully recovered. I would wake to them keeping watch over me - literally. They knew I'd been injured, though they didn't know how or why, and they were going to keep me safe for as long as it took. By then, I had these two cats plus two more. And when I rested, on the sofa or in bed, the four of them stationed themselves all around me; one at my head, one at my feet, and one either side of me. Each had their duty station - I knew who would be where; it never varied. I had a furry phalanx surrounding me, a guard purrimeter. I don't think I ever slept more soundly, ever. Gifts from God, assuredly. I was just as imprinted on them, too. On my way home from work each workday, I often skipped a stop at the grocery store just so I could see them first and pet and cuddle each of them a bit, and then I'd run to the store for supper items. Must have that vitamin C(at). Cats are wonderful. I really love looking at the cats with their people, and the people with their cats, in these videos. It's a lovely window on the places where our human and cat worlds come together. Best wishes to the lady in this video who might be getting (or have already completed, God willing) chemotherapy.

My cat is very much bonded to me like this. I remember the only time she has ever gotten sick in her 10 year life I had to leave her at the vet overnight. They told me she completely shut down, refused to eat, drink, or use the bathroom at all. But the moment I walked in and called her name she was suddenly screaming and crying and I took her out of the kennel and held her close to my chest and that was that. Also when she was spayed not that long after her first heat, she accidentally ripped a stitch out and she would not let the vet wipe the blood off, so they sent her home with me. She stretched out on the couch and I approached her with a damp washcloth. She sniffed it and then immediately stretched out and let me wipe the blood off without a bit of fuss.

Both girls rub my legs a lot when they want my attention for something or another and both have wrapped their tail around my arm to hold me there when I skritched by their tail in just the right spot. I posted ads looking for an owner and took him to be checked for a chip by a veterinarian. No owner was found and what I thought was a girl cat, my veterinarian informed me, was a boy that had been neutered. What a blessing. My grandson named him Mr Binx from the movie Hocus Pocus. Zachary (also named after the same cat in the movie Hocus Pocus) showed up on my back patio one day, starving for attention more than food. We've been feeding him, doctoring his wounds from where he's probably been fighting, his eyes tear up because of allergies. He's been in our care for a month now and im seeing great results. His fur is sofening, his scars are gone away, his eyes are better since I bought a bottle of eye rinse for him. Unfortunately, he wasn't neutered before coming to me. Next on my agenda. My 2 boys get along great. Binkey actually takes care of Zachary just like a little brother.

When I leave and come back she will be in my spot waiting for my return 😅

Oh my gosh! I'm 22, and a college student my Freshman year when I was home for thanksgiving I realized we had a kitten hanging around our house. Now I lived 3 hours away, I did not need or want a cat but the moment I brought her inside, got her cleaned up and let her climb onto my chest I knew she was my soul cat. She lives with my grandparents and has bonded really close to my nana I'm sad that I'm moving in with my Bf this summer and she won't be living with my grandparents anymore. She is a spoilt brat though

My cat Rocky sleeps with me at night, climbs on my chest while watching TV, taps me shoulders and arms, head bumps me constantly, follows me around, sticks his bump in my face, checks me as soon as I get home even thought I only go out 1 to 3 times a month, talks to me, calls for me and plays with me. He loves cuddling with me ❤ ❤ ❤.

For the past few months I've been trying to befriend a local stray who was weak and losing fur. My father put leftover dinner outside for strays to eat so she eventually is drawn to the leftover ovetime but would still run if we get close. I Fed it from distance until few weeks ago it was comfortable to walk by me and follow me inside my home (father's). My father went away for a week so as experiment I let the cat inside and keep her inside. She is well behaved, not super cuddly but she's finally friendly. Today, sunday, my father came back and I asked him whether we could keep the stray as pet. he said no, because pets will make the house smell. I bargained for the terrace, doesn't even need to be inside. or in my own room, I clean my room and the whole house so i will take care of it. still he said no. so with heavy heart after a week of being inside the house I had to deny the cat entry. She must have felt heart broken because I went for a night walk, cane across her and she gave me side eyes and walks away when I tried crouching down to pet her. I feel so sad right now, feels like I made her trust me only to break that trust. and i can't even explain why to her because she' a cat. I wish I could go back in time and never initiate contact in the first place. This feels so depressing. I can't go to college, I can't have things, I can't keep pets, I feel like I can't be happy as long as my parent is still around.

My cat Tui( black with a white spot on his chest like a native bird here in NZ) had a favorite place on my lap first thing in the morning. He would tuck his head under my arm to stop me from putting him on the floor. He was there every morning when I woke up and every afternoon when I got home from work. One morning a couple of weeks ago he wasn't there to greet me first thing and I knew something was wrong. He got hit by a car coming home to me. I was devastated and had to bury him. I am not sure I can take that again, losing him was awful

At home, I could never go to the bathroom by myself. Ever. If i shut te door she just yowled till i let her in. Does anyone know the feline world record for yowling?

You are wrong about cats not having scent glands in their tails. Cats do have scent glands in their tails. They use it for communication and marking their territory. Also, a Love Bite is a sign of affection and showing you that you are a part of their family. Also, they could be getting over stimulus when getting petted or playing with you. You can tell sometimes how your cat feels by its tail movement. If a cat tail is straight up in the air. Its happy. Now, If a cat tail it moving quickly and down like a person slapping their hand on a bar. They are mad!! One more thing if your cat sleeps on their back with its stomach showing . They feel extremely safe with their human. Yes, they imprinted majority with you. Because usually cat protect their stomach when they sleep.

My Sebastian would get into my lap and turn his butt toward me on a regular basis, Seems weird, but his butt smelled similar to chocolate! Trixie would stand at the top of the stairs yelling for me to come to bed. Betty Boop would roll around and do back flips when I entered the bedroom. They were all related and they were the most outwardly loving cats I've ever had.

What does it mean if you bend over and the cat jumps on your back?! I had only lived with the cats owner for about 5 months and as far as I know the only other person this tonkinese ever did it to was her original owner who had passed away. This had being my flatmates husband.

I would love to know why my cat wants to smell my mouth making a huffing noise...then head butts me whenever we greet each other. ABSOLUTELY Loves it when I pet her when she eats...she will meow to get my attention, run to her bowl and wait for me to pet her and give head butts and purrs the whole time...I have to be careful though, because she sometimes overeats and throw up her food.

I’ve got three babies. One is about two years old. Whereas the other two are about 3 months old. I bottlefed the younger two, and they will now throw a fit as soon as I leave the room and scurry to follow. My older girlie only gets really snuggly if I’m sitting down on my couch, but otherwise walks around like she owns the house.

When I was about 10 I got a cat I named him Desi and we were very close when I was about 14 I got sick and he had to stay at my grandma's house I had to go to my mom's house and then stay at the hospital for a long time after I'd been gone for about 3 months my cat broke out of the house when my grandma opened the door never to be seen or so it would seem but then when I was about 18 I was walking to go meet my friend it totally different part of town and when we finally reunited it was amazing then we went back to my grandma's house on foot since I couldn't take him on the bus and he just followed along but from that point on he kept a much closer table on me probably worried I would go away again but I only had him for 5 more years before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge I'm just glad he got to find me before he died so he doesn't have unfinished business and I got a chance to say goodbye

I am actually curious about another detail when it comes to the cat loving you and Grooming. If a cat licks your hair while on your neck and literally ends up chewing on your hair kind of does that mean that they love you as well and is it common for a cat when using you as a free ride to jump onto your back when you're bent over when they love you? My friend had a cat they adopted as a kitten named Sega and this cat would always love to get on our back and literally right around like that but here's another thing that I noticed when it came to me visiting and her coming over to me, she would always lick my hair sometimes and sometimes even chew on it. Whenever my friend ended up mentioning that I was going to come and visit, she would always go wait at the door for me and look at my friend all sad and disappointed because I wasn't there yet. It was actually kind of cute and funny I'm not going to lie. I was just curious because while she didn't do all of those things she did lay on my clothing and like to climb onto my back and even would follow me sometimes and lick my hair. I know she loved me a lot too! My friend ended up getting her from an animal shelter and when they came to visit me one time and I got into the car with her and her boyfriend they actually had Sega in the car with them and when introducing me my friend called me her aunt. I was just curious because you didn't mention grooming the owner's hair and or climbing on the owner's back so I was just curious if those qualified as love as well and imprinting.

So, when my Savannah Juni climbs up on the back of my driver's seat at 70 mph, starts messing my hair up like the wild cat of her ancestors and the bites the back of my head, that means she's imprinted on me? Then there's the days long trips to the hospital in which a normally confident cat hides for the entire time until I get home. Much of our "together time' is spent in the car going places. She's my little sweetheart...
