Sadly, I didn't get into jazz until these Music Matters albums were no longer available. They are such beautiful records. I need more Horace Parlan in my collection. I love the jazz piano artists and his albums are some of the hardest to find. Have a great day.

Great list Felipe! I wish I was collecting records back then when Music Matters was reissuing these wonderful Jazz titles but alas I only started to get back into vinyl in 2019. Thanks for the video!

Great list! I’d say Tom Cat, Mag Thad Jones, Our Thing, Candy, Back to the Tracks, Cat Walk, and Leapin & Lopin would be my faves that I own.

They’re perfect Andy! That’s why it’s so hard to choose and I had to be cold blooded lol

Nice one Filipe. I was late to music matters. Only got three. Midnight blue being one srx. Sounds great.

That was very close to making it to the final list, but I chose to also show titles a little under the radar. Yes, midnight blue Srx is indeed impressive!

Hello Felipe, many thanks for putting some spotlight on Music Matters releases again. As I was a late comer to this series, I couldn’t get all in (due to the permissive 2nd market pricing) but a good load. Interesting enough, over time I have swapped some of the 1500 series stereo releases against Classic Records‘ mono releases which I personally find better sounding in true mono.

Those classics are also excellent. I have a few, spotlights to the Sonny Rollins among the ones I have. Thanks so much for watching!

Nice list/video Felipe!! I've got 132 MMJ's (some duplicate titles in 45rpm/33rpm). Hard to pick ten, but here's some that rise to the top for me: Pete La Roca - Basra Blue Mitchell - The Thing To Do Andrew Hill - Judgement! Lee Morgan - Search For The New Land Dexter Gordon - Our Man In Paris Grachan Moncur III - Evolution Johnny Griffin - A Blowin Session, Vol. 2 Herbie Hancock - Speak Like A Child Ike Quebec - Blue & Sentimental Joe Henderson - Page One

Excellent list as well! I think if we ask ten different people we would get like 100 titles lol

Thank you, Filipe. I’m a big believer in MMJ releases too, regardless of cost. I would rather save my nickels by passing on other titles or releases that I know I won’t spin regularly for a MMJ, especially the SRX pressings. I have been less impressed with the earlier 45s than the later 33s. Of those, the SRXs are king. My tops are… Joe Henderson Inner Urge, Herbie Hancock Maiden Voyage, Wayne Shorter Adams Apple, Johnny Griffin Vol 1 and 2, Andrew Hill Point of Departure, Sonny Clark Cool Struttin’, Ike Quebec Blue & Sentimental, and … John Coltrane Blue Train.

Thanks for watching and the comment. Agree, those titles are so well done, and it’s hard to pick only 10. Love the ones you mentioned as well, but I had to make hard choices…
@sayfo6667 ай бұрын
How would you say the Inner Urge SRX compares to the non-srx 33? Both mastered after Kevin Gray’s equipment upgrade.

It's funny, I was just thinking how Speak no Evil should be a UHQR. Every tune on that Album is killer.. I got to get an MM33. Joe Harley said they'd be putting out more soon from his allotment. Don't know what that means, but I can't wait.

I still need that elusive Duke Pearson’s Wahoo
@asufluffhead7 ай бұрын
Have Wahoo, but just realized I don't have Paul Chambers Quintet. Have it on CD, but not the MMJ. Need it! Glad it made the list.
