A first date definitely has to be somewhere that allows you to talk. Some place quiet. If we can't hold a conversation for long then we won't work out. I love what Dr Carroll said about staying true to yourself. That should guide you. If you're doing stuff that you know you wouldn't normally do then why are you even going on the date. The need to please someone and creating the 'perfect' date shouldn't come at the cost of sacrificing your comfortability and who you are.

@@carmen327 this was SO good. That's one thing - I don't like about the diehard fanatics for this show - the lose a sense of rationale about who these actors are in reality and push boundaries. Why come on here begging for content opposite to whom Daniel has clearly shown himself to be?- private and lowkey. And he HAS posted content about the cast members. Some very insightful interviews I might add! There's no pleasing some of these cray cray fans girl...🤣

You all just set down, and I know right off the bat there's going to be a conversation that is so gratifying. As a single mother who just Binge watch All American, I am claiming this sitcom as my favorite for the 21st century. It is stream lining, and has cultivated a way I can have an important discussion with my 14 year old son who look like he is 18 going on 20-25. Until he speaks and you actually engage him. I'm typing and the gentleman sharing in the 6:20 mark has me at it takes a village. I never imagine in all my years to have so many men in my family. Be born into such a large family. Yet I feel so alone. This pandemic has only made it worse. Never-the-less God bless each and everyone of you. Fan for life. God bless you young man in all your future endeavors.

Exactly what I said about raising children… what’s missing is community… front porches… it definitely takes a village… when communities stayed together, took care of each other, watched out for one another & their neighborhood it was so different, so much better… that’s one thing I wish would go back to how it was long ago… you knew your community, your neighbors, and everyone was together. I’ve always been a lover of porches & all they represent…. #BringBackTheFrontPorch ❤️🙏🏽

Real conversation for our black men... instead of making excuses for our actions. It’s time we need to step up and be parents not friends! We’re raising mini adults if we don’t discipline then that’s when state authority comes in and discipline, so it starts at home.

I love what was said about keeping in simple in dating. Be who you are. There should be a vetting process and boundaries especially because of your status. Keep the stakes low until there’s been a vetting process-Go for coffee, go to the beach as you said, go to a music shop or to a book store, take her on a drive and play your favorite playlist. What DL said is so profound and true... I haven’t heard anyone say these things since my grandparents .. My Grandmother She Instilled this in us at a very young age... Even till this day My mom and I would talk about how Nanna would say it takes a village.. the kids today don’t know about this village... because parents act more like a friend than a parent to their kids...I remember listening to her speak to us and say these same exact words. When they did anything wrong and the neighborhood saw it ... they spoke up... Oh how I love this round table of Distinguish men’s. 😍👏🏾👏🏾

I enjoy this so much because i am always feeling the need to seek knowledge so this was a treat for me. For me, I believe a good date would be a quiet place, no where fancy, as long as we are both comfortable, with good food and good conversation, that's an ideal date. There is no need for the need for expensive dinner dates and fancy restaurants, popping bottles of champagne. Nope

If more older stars took that stance with the younger generation and took them under their wing then there wouldn't be so many of them in and out of trouble, addiction, jail, etc. It also shows how mature Daniel is that he is actually listening and taking all of their advice and wisdom to heart!

I resonated with the bit about representing black people when you are in a particular position. The weight that comes with it especially when you're still oblivious to what you represent. People expect you to be more aware and alert to stuff that you actually don't realize exists or affects you especially when you're still young. Some of us really get into these careers or jobs because its fun or we just need to get paid and live to see the next day. So its quite something realizing the impact your decisions have on others. How you act, what you say and how you say it matters.

I understand how it takes a village. I was raised by everyone in my community as well. We grew up knowing that our neighbours or elders in the community have just as much right to whoop our asses like they are family. I am a person who loves to travel and I'll go after what i want meaning if succeeding means moving to a foreign land by myself i will do just that. Unfortunately that means while I'm so busy chasing the bag and going after what i want i then move away from my home and the support system i need. My circle is full of people that think the same and in travelling I've found that you can make a home wherever you are if you're lucky enough to be around the right people.

This conversation was amazing and much needed. I love the honesty and moments of reflection. I’m big on full circle moments or seeing the full picture from your past and how it alters your actions and way of thinking. I’ve learned all actions are variations of how our parents and grandparents were raised and it’s our job to be aware of that and change it. Please keep doing these videos. It was cleansing. I would love to see you bring younger guys I to them conversation with them.
