Felton, The Village next to an Airport!

Love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️ watching 👀 planes ✈️ , always have , always will ! It’s great up there on the common where you can stand right under the flight ✈️ path and they come in to land directly above you and so low ! Haven’t been up there for a while though ….. Used to drive up Winters Lane up Redhill as well and park up there next to the perimeter fence around the airport parallel with the runway and watch the planes ✈️ coming in and going out ! And what a lovely 🥰 little village Felton is , I had no idea 🤷‍♀️ ! Interesting as always , learnt a few things again too …. Thanks again ! Xxx

Thank you Julie, yes Felton has a lot of very old buildings and is steeped in History!, i often like you went round the back of the airport and would sit and watch the planes, i also had a small radio that would pick up the conversations between pilot and tower. glad you found it interesting, Best Wishes Darren.Merry Christmas xx

The nearest I've got to an aeroplane is going past Bristol Airport in a car (like you I have no intention of getting any closer - I'd be worried it would fall out of the sky 🤣), I had no idea there was a common nearby, would have had no idea it had an airport next door if a plane hadn't flown over 😊 Felton looks like a lovely place. P.S congrats on a 100 videos!

Thanks Jesse, yes you can get quite close standing on the Common, i hate the idea of flying but do quite like watching from a distance. the Common is lovely especially in the summer. Oh wow! At first I thought I hadn't been here.... but as you walked across the common and showed the line of trees, I immediately had a flash back to when I was pretty young, maybe 5 or something, and we were parked there, (as you said, people could park there then) we were having a picnic and I was walking alone across the common, I think from my Dad's builders van that he had then, to where the family were picnicking, when a plane came in really low over me and I was absolutely terrified by the noise! 🙊 I now live about 6 miles from Gatwick. The planes are pretty high up though, so it's not noisy. Do you just have two daughters? and do they live near by?

I used to love going to watch the planes from the goblin combe side. Richard is from N Ireland so goes back twice a year. I remember waiting late at night and the little pull in bit for the cars was full of rats. I know some would scream but I was feeding them biscuits 😁 How interesting you used to play darts, my mum was in a darts team, I don't mind a game but not very good. Where do you park to walk on the common?

Just park in St Katherine's church car park Claire and you'll be fine obviously there are signs saying no overnight parking but as long as you are just out for a walk you'll be fine 👍 thanks for Watching and your support as always ❤️ and best wishes Darren 👍
